Hello everybody, id do have the same problem for some time now and i tried to puzzel it together, but stil am not sure about what to do….i tried al the normal things like this website, upgrading drivers ect ect …most of all i was wondering what in fact that device was not understanding the problem.

but recently i went look all over the internet for the memory adres mentioned like this

indeed like menstioned aboce the people who posted their hardware results and had the «legacy» device indentified, always was an intel firmware hub…..and if ii remember well the driver was the same type number ….

It was nowere nor on this HP site nor on intel or whatever…but i came along something interesting …

Now was hopelessly trying to find out what precisely those 800 series chipsets were, and really i counld not yet find it, not over wikipeida either….but as i notice that this memory adres is everytime the same for a firmware hub intel, or there is mentioned legacy device….

The second thing i realized is that this driver will not be so easy to find with general driver updates, as it is mentioned on the intel site above ….

Further i am not sure if this scan is completely right , it mentions also a firmware hup on that place and it should be delivered by microsoft on the date many of my kernel devices have their driver, and even if some people keep saying it is outdated still i finally come to find it is the right diver…, but meanwhile the device is mentioned as legacy device without further problem codes or whatever ,

i am now looking in the possible connection between this problem and frimwaresettings virualizatiion on , but ill puzzel this tomorrow further ….finding contradicting information like its not possible to do this on windows 10 home, only the bizzness and prof version , and the same is foor booting not bios but uefi ect …..not sure if that was also the case for windows 8 or vista, that could explain for so ma,y its after upgrading to windows 10

I recently updated to Windows 10 and this hardware ACPIVEN_INT&DEV_0800 is being listed as a Legacy Device.

Since I upgraded the screen saver and power saving features stop working.

Any help will be appreciated.

Download the beta version 15.07 at the top right of screan to get the most complete functionality. Install it then after you download the sp file from HP support, right click the file and click 7zip>extract here. It will create a folder with a randome name where the drivers are.

Of course you could simply double click the sp file to install it, but it might not want to install where as a manual driver update just to update that legacy driver should work.

This device is equipped with two hardware interfaces. The state of the devices IC (InterfaceConfiguration) pin determines which interface is in use. The interface mode must be selected prior topower-up or before return from reset (RST# or INIT# low-to-high transition). The Intel FWH interface isdesigned to work with the Intel family of I/O Controller Hubs (ICH) during platform operation. The A/A Mux interface is designed as a programming interface for OEMs, for use during motherboard manufacturing or component pre-programming. The A/A Mux interface is not intended for use during regular personal computer operation. Such a configuration would cause the expected (Intel FWH) interface to be disabled, and the system boot sequence would fail upon power-up. An internal Command User Interface (CUI) serves as the internal control center for the nonvolatilememory core in either of the two device interfaces (Intel FWH or A/A Mux). A single valid commandsequence written to the CUI initiates an automated sequence of internal events to complete various tasks. Note: There is no chip enable (like CE#) in either interface. Stand-by current control in the Inel FWH interface is enabled automatically, if the Intel FWH4 is high and the device is not working to complete a requested activity.

TL;DR In other words, its for AMT an MEI, REMOTE Configuration most likely the KVM chip or something, OR, its the hardware switch between UEFI and LEGACY BIOS, and HYBRID BIOS modes, this is my guess. OR it is for remotely managing/configuring the bios (FIRMWARE) of the PC.

G75VW Windows 10 Legacy Device?

I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my G75VW and I followed the guide on this forum for updating all of the necessary drivers. Everything seems to be working well but there’s a Legacy Device in my disk management that’s making me crazy. What is it? Where can I get the drivers for it? Should I install them?

Here are its Hardware IDs:
ACPIVEN_INT&DEV_0800
ACPIINT0800
*INT0800

Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Intel acpi device.
Double check you have downloaded all the chip set drivers as well the the inf files and anything else intel from the website.

Also you can try opening it in device manager and selecting update driver and let it auto search.

All the customized drivers needed for this computer to work properly are provided by HP. The Intel® drivers are generic, meaning they might or might not work with your platform.

If HP did not validate Windows* 10 as a supported OS, then the next thing to do will be to check with them directly if they have the driver needed for your system.

Yes, that is correct, the driver actually belongs to Intel® ME/Intel® TXE and the reason why the driver is missing, since this computer is not that new, is because it is not fully compatible with Windows* 10, you can always install that OS but some drivers like the one you are looking for will not be available.

I looked for the driver in HP’s web site for the HP dv5-1251nr and I was not able to find that product, I found a similar one HP Pavilion dv5-2231nr and it said that it only supports until Windows* 7:

So, in this case, the next thing to do will be to get in contact directly with HP for them to confirm if Windows* 10 is fully compatible with the laptop and to verify if they have that driver available for you to install it.
