Your bird’s-eye view can help Chip rush through the puzzles and mazes before he’s deleted by monsters, traps and the passage of time. Show Chip how to use blocks of soil to overcome water traps and cherry bombs, find keys, and pick up the computer chips which Chip needs to solve some puzzles.

Chips Challenge Overview
Chips Challenge Free Download for PC is a top-down tile-based puzzle video game created in 1989 by Chuck Sommerville originally for the hand-held Atari Lynx. Chip’s Challenge was then later ported to multiple formats including the Amiga, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum,[1] DOS, and Windows, included in the Microsoft Entertainment Pack and Best of Microsoft Entertainment Pack (the last of which was written by Tony Krueger in 1991).
Microsoft licensed Chip’s Challenge from Epyx to write a DOS and Windows version of the game; while porting the game, the logic was slightly changed from the original version. The Microsoft Windows version is 16-bit so running it natively on 64-bit modern versions of Windows is not possible without using a virtual machine. It has also been converted to the TI-84+ calculator and the TI-89 Titanium.[2]

Game Review
Chip’s Challenge is an arcade puzzler created by Epyx, with a team lead by Chuck Sommerville, originally for the Atari Lynx console. The game released in 1989 was one of the launch titles.
The game was much more successful than the console itself, and it was ported to several other platforms, including Atari ST, Amiga, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, MS-DOS. Most of the conversions were handled by Images Software. Microsoft also released Chip’s Challenge in a Windows 3.1 version in 1992.
At first sight, it looks like an 8-bit title converted to 16-bit without improving the graphics, but, despite the simple visuals, the game design is fantastic. Gameplay involves collecting enough chips in the rooms to unlock the level. To do that, you will have to open the doors, using the right keys, avoid traps and enemies. There are 148 levels and most of them are really brilliant. Difficulty increases gradually, with a perfect balance. A useful password system will allow you to continue from the last level you solved, like Lemmings.
If you like a good challenge and you can appreciate an excellent puzzle design, this is the game for you. If you start playing, it’s guaranteed that you will find yourself addicted to this small gem.
