Learn how to install and use the Coda app on your PC or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

  1. Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:
    Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks Pc or Mac software Here >> .

  2. Install the emulator on your PC or Mac:
    On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

  3. Using Coda on PC [Windows 7/ 8/8.1/ 10/ 11]:
    • Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search «Coda»
    • The search will reveal the Coda app icon. Open, then click «Install».
    • Once Coda is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the «All apps» icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Coda.
    • Now enjoy Coda on PC.

  4. Using Coda on Mac OS:
    Install Coda on your Mac using the same steps for Windows OS above.

How to download and install Coda on Windows 11

To use Coda mobile app on Windows 11, install the Amazon Appstore. This enables you browse and install android apps from a curated catalog. Here’s how:

  1. Check device compatibility
    • RAM: 8GB (minimum), 16GB (recommended)
    • Storage: SSD
    • Processor: Intel Core i3 8th Gen (minimum), AMD Ryzen 3000 (minimum) or Qualcomm Snapdragon 8c (minimum)
    • Processor architecture: x64 or ARM64

  2. Check if there’s a native Coda Windows app ». If none, proceed to next step.

  3. Install the Amazon-Appstore ».
    • Click on «Get» to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
    • After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

  4. Install Coda on Windows 11:
    • After login, search «Coda» in search bar. On the results page, open and install Coda.
    • After installing, Goto Start menu » Recommended section » Coda. OR Goto Start menu » «All apps».

    When I first learned how to use spreadsheet formulas, I thought it was magic. I’d hack a spreadsheet or a google doc for almost everything in life and work (trip planning, project tracking, notes… the list goes on). Now I use this app for everything AND I DON’T EVEN NEED TO HACK IT. I made a CRM for my apartment search when I moved to Seattle. I planned a trip to Iceland with my mom so we could share our itinerary, expenses, reservations, and emergency info all in one place. I moved my family recipe database from a huge Drive folder to a single this app doc with cute icons for every section. On a project tracker with my team at work, I made my own view for my tasks that still updates the main tracker when I change a status. Now with the app, I can pull up my recipes on my phone, use buttons to make status updates when I’m not at my desk, or get reminders from my habit tracker doc as push notifications. 🙏🏼 All I can say is YAS.

    this app is great, however, as someone who uses an iPad Pro for pretty much all of my computing needs (have a desktop just never at home to use it) it would be great if the developer would add the ability to create and edit docs through the app or even through Safari/Chrome for iPad.

    Ever since I got a taste of the this app web app, I could not put it down and I almost ditched Google Word and Google Sheet, but they had the advantage of having mobile apps. this app is the easiest, most beautiful, and smart doc-creating piece of technology I have ever used and quitely, I think everyone should at least try once in their life. It’s probably the most innovative tool I’ve have come across that was created in the last couple of years. It’s so much so, that now that THERE’S AN APP that I can’t even think of any other app right now that has been more life-changing than this one.   • Fixed memory issue when trying to access (non-existing) attributes of an
    HDF5 dataset element.

  • Fixed build system to work with automake 1.16.

  • Updated SWIG generated files (for Java/Python interfaces) to SWIG 3.0.12.

  • Fixed round() coda expression function for negative values
    (round(-0.6) was returning -2 instead of -1).

23 апреля 2007 года. Это был день, когда Panic представила программу Coda 1. Идея Coda была революционной: одно приложение, одно окно на весь процесс веб-разработки. Это было правильно и удобно. В 2007 году разработчики выиграли Apple Design Award за лучший пользовательский интерфейс. До Coda существовали такие приложения как TextMate, BBEdit, Espresso MacRabbit и CSS Edit. Да, был еще Dreamweaver, но не все хотели тратить на него деньги. Coda стала настоящей революцией. До её выхода разработчикам требовался целый ряд различных инструментов. Нужен был редактор для написания кода, FTP клиент для загрузки и скачивания файлов с сервера и браузер, чтобы проверять свою работу. В некоторых случаях разработчикам требуется SSH терминал и работа с БД. Coda вобрала в себя всё лучшее и необходимое, став действительно комплексным и самодостаточным инструментом.

Coda 2 — это полностью обновленная версия Coda 1, но построенная по тому же принципу. После запуска приложения перед пользователем открывается рабочая область. На главном экране отображаются все проекты. Вы можете создавать группы из своих проектов, достаточно лишь перетянуть один проект на другой.

Чтобы добавить новый проект, нажмите + в левом нижнем углу. В появившееся окошко вводятся данные для подключения к серверу.

Теперь можете выбрать появившийся проект и начать с ним работать. После открытия проекта вы увидите список файлов на вашем сервере. Выберите нужный файл для работы или создайте новый. Coda 2 поддерживает множество актуальных языков, сред и платформ, в том числе HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, ASP.NET, XML, SQL и так далее.

Особое внимание стоит уделить интерфейсу программы. Он стал гораздо удобнее и эстетичнее. Верхнее меню получило вкладки. Первые две вкладки статические, а остальные — это открытые вами файлы. Первая вкладка ведет на главную страницу программы, вторая открывает файловый менеджер и FTP.

Работа с кодом очень удобная. Coda 2, как и большинство редакторов, поддерживает подсветку кода. Полезнейшим свойством программы является то, что она знает все контейнеры, большинство функций, параметров и прекрасно понимает синтаксис.

Например, Вы начинаете вводить «HT», а программа сразу предлагает вам полный вариант «HTML». Также программа автоматически закрывает контейнеры, кавычки, скобки и тд. В CSS реализована удобная палитра цветов. Вы выбираете на палитре цвет, и программа сразу же ставит его кодовое обозначение. Если же у вас имеется iPad, то Вы сможете просмотреть свою работу на планшете. Для этого поставьте на него Diet Coda, а в Coda 2 нажмите «AirPreview».

Как и любое комплексное профессиональное ПО, Coda 2 — штука не из дешёвых, но она стоит своих денег, и любому серьёзному разработчику стоит обратить на неё внимание.
