The video tutorial has been made on Windows 10, but you can follow the same steps for Windows 7, 8, Vista, and Server as well.

The printer can hold up to 150 sheets of paper and has a duty cycle of 5,000 pages per month. Answer: Usually, the Windows 7 get the HP deskjet 1280 drivers automatically from microsoft.com when you connect it. But, if it doesn’t work then try the following two methods.

Method 1:

Step 1: Uninstall the printer driver from the device manager and then unplug the USB cable of the printer.
Step 2: Reboot your computer.
Step 3: After boot, connect the printer’s USB cable. It should auto-install the drivers. If this doesn’t work then follow method 2.

Method 2:

Step 1: Download the HP deskjet 1280 basic driver from this download link.

Answer: Sorry to say but there is no driver available for Mac OS version 10.9.5. Not available even on its official download page.
We advise you to use Mac 10.5 version driver for Mac 10.9.5; it should work. If it doesn’t work, then you have to update your Mac OS to its latest 10.14 Mojave version. Make sure your printer should be connected and turned ON during the update.

We have checked on HP official website for its supported OS, whether the hp 1280 printer supports Windows 10 or not. We found that the printer doesn’t support windows 10 OS. But you can try an additional driver option, through windows update driver.

Драйвер для струйного принтера HP DeskJet 1280.
Данная страница загрузки содержит следующее программное обеспечение (ПО):

драйвер версии 1.0 для 32-х битной ОС Windows XP/2000.

Предложенное выше ПО является официальным и не имеет более новой версии. В связи с этим, нет никаких гарантий того, что DeskJet 1280 будет корректно работать с более поздними выпусками операционных систем семейства Windows (10/8/7).

Однако существуют рекомендации, следуя которым, появится возможность использовать принтер в актуальный ОС. Перед тем как выполнить последовательность действий описанных ниже, необходимо установить все компоненты доступные через Windows Update. Другими словами, на Вашей операционной системе должны быть установлены все обновления и исправления. После чего, устройство может определиться автоматически.

Если принтер DeskJet 1280 не определился системой, рекомендуется выполнить следующие действия:

скачать и установить вручную предложенный неофициальный драйвер. Архив содержит ПО для 32-х и 64-х битных ОС (размер файла: 23.9 Мб). Подробнее о ручной инсталляции можно узнать на этой странице. Как правило, ничего другого для корректной работы принтера не нужно. Однако, если предложенное действие не привело к желаемому результату, то имеет смысл перейти к следующему пункту.
убедитесь, что принтер отключен от ПК.
Необходимо зайти в Панель управления, а затем выбрать Устройства и принтеры.
Вверху нажать на Установка принтера, в появившемся окне Добавить локальный принтер. Порт принтера пока оставляем по-умолчанию LPT1.

Выбираем Центр обновления Windows, после чего, активное окно несколько минут может не отвечать на действия. Все зависит от скорости Интернет соединения.
В колонке Изготовитель находим и выбираем HP, а в разделе Принтеры — HP DeskJet 1220C. Если этой модели принтера нет, значит, список устройств не обновился и необходимо проверить интернет соединение, после чего, повторить последовательность действий еще раз.
Теперь нажимаем Далее, до тех пор, пока мастер установки принтера не завершит свою работу. Появившиеся настройки можно оставить как есть или, при желании, поменять на свои.

Подключаем USB-шнур к компьютеру и принтеру. Может появиться уведомление от системы о некорректной установке драйвера. Это нормально.
Заходим опять в раздел Устройства и принтеры и правой кнопкой вызываем контекстное меню, в котором необходимо выбрать Свойства принтера.
Находим вкладку Порты и выбираем соответствующий порт принтера. Это может быть USB порт или DOT4. Если таких портов несколько, то используйте порт с более высоким числовым индексом. Например, при выборе между USB002 и USB001, отдайте предпочтение первому. Нажимаем Применить, затем ОК.

Теперь необходимо проверить насколько корректно система определила принтер. Для этого заходим в Диспетчер устройств (расположен в Панели управления). Если принтер находится в категории Другие устройства, то нажимаем правой кнопкой мыши и выбираем Обновить драйвер. В противном случае, ничего дальше делать не нужно.
В появившемся окне выбираем раздел Выполнить поиск драйверов на этом компьютере, а затем Выбрать драйвер из списка уже установленных драйверов. Внизу списка устройств находится раздел Принтеры. Опять находим и выбираем HP DeskJet 1220C и, соглашаясь на уведомление от операционной системы, нажимаем Далее.
Все, драйвер для принтера корректно установлен. Рекомендуем распечатать тестовую страницу.

How is the printer connected — USB or parallel port? Have you gone to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, The printer I want is not listed, Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, Next, Use an existing port: [choose the appropriate LPTn: or USB00n: port], Next, Windows Update [wait perhaps five minutes for the list to repopulate], select HP as the manufacturer (not Hewlett Packard or Hewlett-Packard), selectt HP Deskjet 1220C, Next, Next, Yes, Next, Finish? If you have an issue at some point please indicate which step has a problem.
