  • Hello,

I ran the following command and always get this error:

    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17763.1]

Die DISM-Protokolldatei befindet sich unter "C:WindowsLogsDISMdism.log". (Translation: The DISM log is:...)

It always abort around 39%. Theres no anti virus which is running at the moment and the install.wim is provided via a virtual mounted ISO (using the build-in Windows feature for this)

Besides that, many other operations using DISM (e.g. «>DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth») also aborts with error 2

  • I am having problems installing MS Software and I have read that DISM is suppose to correct the issue. unfortunately it is having issues finding SiloedPackageProvider. It is no place that I can find on my machine. I read something that led me to believe
that the Windows 10 ADK is what put it on my machine, but after uninstall and reinstall it is still not there. Where do I get SiloedPackageProvider.dll

    This is my DISM Log

  1. Failed to Load the provider: …. PEProvider.dll

Getting the above warning in dism.log (later causing error) with almost anything I try to do with DISM.

Let be straight — I’m in such a state trying to fix this problem I didn’t even notice this was a Windows 10 forum!. My problem is with Windows 7 64bit, so you may want to kick me out or take pity *Smile.

Problem started with with the visual studio 2015 reditributable package, vc_redist.x64.exe. It fails during the Windows7_MSU_x64 phase with missing api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll . I tried to fix it with KB2999226 and it also fails, with 0x80240017. MS publish a fix for the problem, by extracting the KB and using DISM to patch it. :

    wusa.exe C:packagesPatchx64Windows6.1-KB2999226-x64.msu /extract:extractedFix

    DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:extractedFixWindows6.1-KB2999226-x64.cab

    C:packagesvcRedistD14vc_redist.x64.exe /repair

    DISM fails with :

2016-12-06 15:10:40, Warning DISM DISM Provider Store: PID=2804 Failed to Load the provider: C:UsersRickAppDataLocalTemp927F8070-C52A-441B-87E1-41346CA25327PEProvider.dll. — CDISMProviderStore::Internal_GetProvider(hr:0x8007007e)

which later leads to 4 errors and failure. So I put the WIndows DVD in I: and :

    C:UsersRick>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:I:sourcesinstall.wim:1 /limitaccess

Same problem in dis.log with PEProvider.dll. In fact I’ve tried CheckHealth and RestoreHealth and they both fail because of PEProvider.dll. The dism directory holds many DLLs but not that one, neith is it in the system folders.

Looking back through dism logs, it seems to have been a problem for a while

How can I fix this PEProvider.dll problem and get the vc 2015 redistributable installed please?.

    :)

  3. Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN adapter not working in Windows 10

    Thanks for your help.

I completed the commands you suggested.

The first seemed to run okay, but did not fix my problem.

The second commend completed 100% with «No component store corruption detected.»

The last command (cleanup/restore health) failed with an error 1726 and was only 4.5% complete at the time of failure. What does that tell me? Does that mean I need to update my BIOS?

  5. You’d probably be better off posting in the 7 forum Windows 7 Help Forums

Not kicking you out, but as you’ve said this is the 10 forum. You’ll probably get a more timely assist better related to Win7 in that forum.

The DISM logs are reporting:

CDISMProviderStore::Internal_GetProvider(hr:0x8007007e)

However, error code 0x8007007e is most likely a «Module/Component not found» error

It then triggers FFU… which it shouldn’t be doing

DISM FFU Provider: PID=12324 TID=15168 [E:mountRE] is not recognized by the DISM FFU provider. — CFfuImage::Initialize

I also am investigating if the DISM Engineers have created a problem with ScratchDirectory creating a Temp folder in the User space roaming folder — as it may or may not have the permissions it needs.

The above example was executed with the following command:

Add-WindowsPackage -LogPath 2019-07-pkg.txt -ScratchDirectory mountscratch -Path E:WinROGmountRE -PackagePath xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey all, I am having a heck of a time with capturing this image for some reason, and I am hoping someone here might be able to help me out.

Back story:

I wear many hats at work, and one of them is as the Desktop and Systems Admin, along with many others. My boss has tasked me with creating an image we can deploy to everyone’s laptops because he knows I have done this many times, but for some reason, I am just baffled why this image will not capture.

System / Tools:

Dell Latitude 5400 laptop

Windows 10 Pro image created using Windows 10 Audit Mode

Installed required software, SysPrepped system, generalized, OOBE, shutdown. Success.

Entered WinPE, diskpart, list disk, list vol — everything is kosher: C is Windows, D is the empty 5 TB external drive that I just bought and reformatted to exFAT from NTFS, E is the 32 GB USB 3 drive where WinPE is.

I exit diskpart, I run the following command:

dism /capture-image /imagefile:D:install.wim /capturedir:C: /Name:»NOC» /Description:»NOC» /compress:maximum /verify /bootable

I have tried running that multiple times in WinPE and for some reason it is crapping out on me each and every time…this time, it died around 43%, and when I scroll through and review the logs, it’s telling me there is not enough space on the disk….I call BS because I am capturing the image of a physical laptop which has a 256 GB SSD to a brand new external WD 5 TB HDD which has just been formatted to exFAT from NTFS….

I am attaching the log for everyone to take a look through…maybe someone can see something that I can’t….I hope someone can give me a hand, because this is really getting annoying, not being able to capture this image…this is the first time I have ever ran into this, in all the images which I have captured over the last 4 years, and I am just stuck….

Help, please?

Thank you!
