RS232
This is the FT232R and FT245R USB UART drivers. You do not normally need a UART driver for the devices as they are treated by the computer in the same way as the BM series devices. That noted that any driver which worked on the BM series devices will also now work with the R series devices. Note that there are some new functionalities which may now require the most recent drivers for the devices.
FT232R and FT245R USB UART Drivers
As of date any application which was coded for both the AM or BM series devices should still work with R series devices. There should be very few changes in this regard. You can also see some of the most common problems here. If the FT232R/FT245R asks for a new driver each time you connect to a device then you will note that Windows normally installs the drivers by serial number. Each time a new connection is made Windows will install the driver again for the new connected device.
This is normal as the R series device driver will need to be installed when it is connected to your system. FT and BM series components are not the same and not interchangeable. You will note that FT232R and FT245R are available in 28-pin SSOP and 32-pin QFN packages while the BM series devices were available in 32-pin LQFP and 32-pin QFN packages. Virtual COM Port Drivers
Virtual COM port (VCP) drivers cause the USB device to appear as an additional COM port available to the PC. The are for chips made by FTDI.

You can download the file below. This was the last UART driver for Linux which was released in 2009.
Linux UART Driver
The installation is easy or if there is a problem you can install it manually. The instructions on how to install the UART driver has been added below.
Windows 10 UART Installation
Click on the Windows Logo and type Device Manger
You will now see the USB Serial Cable in your Device Manager and you will need to Right-Click on the driver. Then click on “Update Driver Software” on the menu.
You will then have to click on Browse and browse to where you had extracted the file content.
Now Browse to the location where the files are extracted and click on Next for the installation to begin.
The USB Serial Converter has now been installed.
USB Serial Port Installation
Now you have to install the USB Serial Port software.
You will need to Right Click on the USB Serial Port which has a small yellow bubble next to it. You will also note below that the steps above have now installed the USB Serial Converter.
Right Click on the USB Serial Port and click on Update Driver Software which will then bring up another menu. Just like above you click Browse and then Browse to the location where you extracted the driver. Then click on Next as above. The port software will now install. If you are old enough to remember PcTel software modems when this UART software installs in the very same way. This is the FT232R and FT245R USB UART drivers.
The Device Manager will now show the following.

- Определите версию вашего контроллера
- Разархивируйте содержимое на вашем ПК
- Запустите исполняющий файл (имеет расширение *.exe)
- В появившемся окне подтвердите установку программного обеспечения, нажав кнопку [INSTALL]. Далее произойдет установка программного обеспечения
- В появившемся окне необходимо выставить параметры установки
- Type — тип установки ПО (отдельная программа или модули для графических редакторов)
- Language — язык интерфейса программного обеспечения
- Mainbord — версия вашей системы управления
- Для завершения установки нажмите [INSTALL]

Вариант №1
- Разархивируйте содержимое на вашем ПК
- Запустите исполняющий файл (имеет расширение *.exe)
- В появившемся окне подтвердите установку программного обеспечения, нажав кнопку [INSTALL]. Далее произойдет установка программного обеспечения
- В появившемся окне в верхней части есть две кнопки
- Install USB driver — установка USB драйвера
- Uninstall USB driver — удаление USB драйвера (в случае обновления или переустановки)
Вариант №2
- Разархивируйте содержимое на вашем ПК
- Запустите диспетчер устройств. Найдите устройство с название FT245R USB FIFO и обновите драйвер для данного устройства указав путь к разархивированной папке. Далее оно будет отображаться, как USB Serial Converter.
- После установки появится второе неопределившиеся устройство USB Serial Port для него надо повторить процедуру установки.
Вариант №3
- Запустить Windows Update (Центр обновления Windows)
Данный вариант подходит только при наличии сети интернет и лицензионной версии операционной сиситемы.

FT245R – USB FIFO IC
The FT245R is a USB to parallel FIFO interface, with the new FTDIChip-ID™ security dongle feature. In addition, asynchronous and synchronous bit bang interface modes are available. USB to parallel designs using the FT245R have been further simplified by fully integrating the external EEPROM, clock circuit and USB resistors onto the device.
The FT245R is the latest device to be added to FTDI’s range of USB FIFO interface Integrated Circuit Devices.
The FT245R adds a new function compared with its predecessors, effectively making it a “2-in-1” chip for some application areas. A unique number (the FTDIChip-ID™) is burnt into the device during manufacture and is readable over USB, thus forming the basis of a security dongle which can be used to protect customer application software from being copied.
The FT245R is available in Pb-free (RoHS compliant) compact 28-Lead SSOP and QFN-32 packages.

Установку драйверов и программы необходимо производить от имени Администратора. Предварительно необходимо отключить «Контроль Учетных Записей» (UAC) в профиле пользователя и перезагрузить компьютер.
Подключите программатор к компьютеру, затем включите питание программатора. Windows обнаружит новое устройство и, если доступно Интернет соединение, то все необходимые драйвера будут загружены с узла Windows Update и установлены в автоматическом режиме. После завершения установки, необходимо выполнить настройку USB драйвера.
Если драйвера не были установлены в автоматическом режиме, то нужно выполнить установку в ручном режиме. Для этого в «Панели Управления» откройте «Диспетчер Устройств». В разделе «Другие устройства» («Other Devices») найдите устройство «FT245R USB FIFO», помеченное желтым восклицательным знаком, нажмите на нем правой кнопкой мыши и выберите пункт «Обновить драйверы» («Update Driver Software»).
В окне «как производить поиск драйвера» выберите ручной поиск.
Установите компакт диск с драйверами, выберите папку, где находится драйвер и нажмите «Далее».
После сообщения завершения установки закройте это окно.
Снова вернитесь в окно «Диспетчер Устройств». В разделе «Другие устройства» («Other Devices») появится новое устройство «USB Serial Port», также помеченное желтым восклицательным знаком. Нажмите на нем правой кнопкой мыши, выберите пункт «Обновить драйвер» («Update Driver Software») и повторите процедуру установки драйверов снова.
На сообщение мастера, о небезопасности программного обеспечения нажмите кнопку «Все равно установить этот драйвер».
Если все установлено правильно, то в разделе «Порты (COM & LPT)» появится новый COM порт.

Вот старый рабочий драйвер yadi.sk/d/EJNhdDOcczcWV который скачивал в 2011 году, ставится на любую ось (x86 и x64) главное CDM20814_Setup.exe запустить От имени адмнистратора или на крайняк (мне не приходилось так делать даже на 8-ке) в Режиме совместимости
«Замечательная компания FTDI сменила тактику борьбы с поддельными чипами. Ее решение изящно, легально и позволяет контролировать рынок. Вот только устраивает ли оно конечных пользователей? Если ранее, вы просто устанавливали драйверы штатными средствами Windows, то теперь, новые драйверы поставляются в виде exe и при инсталляции вы принимаете лицензионное соглашение, в котором есть такие слова:

P.S. Себе отключил обновление системы уже давно, т.к. мне не надо нового если работает старое (хотя не на XP сижу, а на 8-ке)))). А так если обновы от майкрософт нужны, то можно поставить на ручное обновление и при установке снимать галочки с не нужных пунктов.
Скорее всего косяки касаются адаптеров из Китая, так сказать не оригиналы. Но на своем: www.orionspb.ru/diagnostic/187/ пробовать что-то не охота, хотя производитель на своей страничке говорит о том что свежие дрова работают с адаптером от НПП Орион!:

Если не понятно какой драйвер стоит в данный момент на ПК, можно удалить установленный драйвер используя унисталер, что в прикрепленном архиве yadi.sk/d/EJNhdDOcczcWV. Открываем папку: FTClean и запускаем от имени администратора: FTClean.exe, далее жмем кнопку «Clean System» и нажмаем кнопку «OK» потом два раза «Yes». Ставим старый драйвер.
