Win + R.
LocalAppData %Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalStategamescom.mojangminecraftWorlds
LocalAppData %Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalStategamescom.mojangminecraftWorlds
Minecraft
I have searched in %appdata%
, pulling up the list of files there, but there is no file labelled .minecraft
. Searching %appdata%.minecraft
returns «no results found».
I also opened Minecraft to click on the resources button and could not locate that either.

The Bedrock (Windows Store/Windows 10) version of Minecraft folder is not %appdata%/.minecraft
like the Java version.
For the Win 10 version you need to go to:
%LocalAppData%PackagesMicrosoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalStategamescom.mojangminecraftWorlds
See the official Mojang help for more info.

I am using the Java edition, on Windows 10 (version 1909).

Looking to put some of my old Java saves in the Win 10 Edition, can I drop them in the saves folder?
Also, where does Win 10 Edition save files?

You cannot transfer saves from the PC Edition to the Windows 10 Edition. They are both separate games, Windows 10 Edition is essentially MCPE.
In any case, save files for the Windows 10 Edition are stored here,
C:Users(your pc username)AppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalStategamescom.mojang

Anyone know if there is a way to change the default save directory?
For example, I’d like them to reside on a folder in my Onedrive so that I can access the same saves from multiple Windows 10 machines and have them synced for me. Is this possible (yet)?

So to be clear, I should be cut-pasting the minecraftWorlds folder from its appData location into Onedrive or wherever, then Right click -> Pick link source, and then create a hard link clone in the com.mojang folder where it used to be, correct?
I did this (and tried others when it didn’t work), and while I could open the hard link and see the world folder, minecraft did not show the world when it loaded. On top of that, when I created a new world, it somehow showed up when opening the hard link, but not when I manually browsed to the folder it was supposedly linked to.
I couldn’t get it to work using any of the other link types, either. Could be that Onedrive doesn’t support them, but I feel like it should work considering all of the Onedrive files are local on my machine, and the only thing the Onedrive program does is detect and auto-upload/download new files or changes.

So far the only maps compatible that i have tested are maps created in any MCPE they run excellent with the MCW10E, as for cheats, Cheat engine. Don’t know if you’ll get banned from Xlive but so far so good.

I have to say I’m really PO’d about this. I’ve bought Minecraft when it was still in Beta and only cost $10. I’ve been out of it for a while, but just build a new Win 10 rig. I saw Minecraft for Win 10 in the App store and figured It’d have new features. Instead, I get a crap PE version??!? I spent the last two days leveling off an awesome sandstone escarpment jutting 20+ blocks out of a desert, only to find I can’t build stairs or fences? And there’s no way to transfer the world from Win 10 to the standard Minecraft exe I’ve owned for, like, 5 years? F.M.L.

This is literally what I just experienced this week. I had not played in about a year but my gf moved to japan and finally got into it, I got my original account, but it won’t run in win10 so I grabbed the new version and it’s stripped down, non compatible version and to kick me in the balls, I can’t use the maps from W10 in the native mc?? So I wasted a a week using crappy tools to build a awesome city with my niece but can’t take it back to the full version . Grrrr

Hey Minecraftkid, the export feature was only put in recently. At the time that OP asked their question, the export feature didn’t exist.

EXPORT your saves.
Done.
(I’ve never «lost» a world, but then again, I don’t go messing around with the files, either.)

Well, I don’t know about you guys but if you have a Minecraft account, then you have a technic account as well. Technic works just fine for me so just download the vanilla pack and play your worlds that way. Same «Saved» folder, it crashes a little bit more but if you have a good computer and a non corrupted world then it should work just fine, plus you get a new launcher that can give you more mod packs!

There is not. You can make use of symbolic links instead, that’s assuming your cloud service allows them.
I’m not sure if OneDrive supports it, but you can refer to this for information on setting up a symlink: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/
I’ll see if I can make a better guide.

Q. Where does Minecraft Windows 10 edition save the game worlds?
A. Unlike the regular Minecraft which saves the worlds to location %USERPROFILE%AppDataRoaming.minecraftsaves, the Windows 10 edition saves the worlds to %USERPROFILE%AppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe
LocalStategamescom.mojangminecraftWorlds. The worlds save in different formats so you cannot just copy worlds from the java based version to the Windows 10 version.

Windows
Windows:
Windows 10:
Minecraft for Windows 10 saves Words in following location:
C:Users AppDataLocalPackagesMicrosoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalStategamescom.mojangminecraftWorlds
AppData folder by default is hidden.
Each wold is stored in a separate folder. Since folder names seem to be random string of characters it is not immediately clear which folder represents which world. However, if you look inside each folder, you will find a file called «levelname.txt», inside of which there is an actual world name.
To backup a world, or copy it to another PC, simply copy whole folder with its contents.

Windows 10
The relic of Riverwood – MCPE adv. map.
MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbweLocalState
gamescom.mojangminecraftWorlds
Enter.
