Fix #1

In case the system has gone into a loop with the system crashing with a blue screen of death and restarting. For this to be fixed, users need to boot into Advanced Recovery Mode and uninstall the recent OS update which might be causing the OS to BSOD and restart.

Restart the system and when Windows starts to load, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and the system will turn off. Do this 2-3 times and after that, your PC will automatically boot in advanced recovery mode.

Click on Troubleshoot > Advanced options > select “Go back to the previous version”. Follow the on-screen prompts and the PC will restart once the process is done. This will fix the Invalid Process Attach Attempt BSOD.

Fix #2

If users are experiencing the Invalid Process Attach Attempt BSOD again and again when the system starts, they need to run the Windows 10’s built-in troubleshooter. Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > BSOD or Blue Screen and click Run the troubleshooter. Follow the on on-screen prompts and let the process complete. This will fix the Blue Screen crash issue with WIndows 10.

Fix #3

If the built-in troubleshooter didn’t work then OS files might be corrupt. To fix that, users need to run the SFC and DISM scans. Click on the search bar and type CMD and run it as administrator. Enter the following command and press enter.

sfc/scannow

Wait for the scan to complete and if the files are indeed corrupt, this scan will automatically fix it. After that, restart your PC and again open CMD. Type in the following command and press enter.

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Wait for the scan to complete and make sure the system is connected to the internet. This will fix the Windows 10 Invalid Process Attach Attempt BSOD.

Fix # 4

Another cause for the Invalid Process Attach Attempt BSOD could be an application or a service conflicting with the operating system. To fix this, users need to boot the OS in a Clean Boot state.

It’ll not automatically fix the BSOD but, Clean Boot state disables all third-party apps. From here users need to do a trial and error by enabling the one application/service at a time to see which one is causing the blue screen of death crash.

A simpler way to do it would be to uninstall any recently installed app. If that doesn’t work, follow the steps below.

To boot into a Clean Boot state, click on the search bar and type MSConfig and select “System Configuration” > Services tab > check “Hide all Microsoft services” > click Disable all. Now go to the Startup Tab > click “Open Task Manager” > disable all apps/services which are enabled. Close the Task Manager and go back to the Startup tab and press OK. Now the PC will restart and the OS will be in a Clean Boot State.

Now its time for trial and error. Once you find out which app or service is causing the BSOD, remove it from your system.

Fix #5

Your anti-virus software might be causing the Invalid Process Attach Attempt BSOD in Windows 10. Usually, AVG and Avast antivirus is the cause of this issue. Just uninstall your anti-virus and the error will be fixed.

Fix #6

Blue Screen Of Death is often caused by failing hardware especially, RAM. Make sure your RAM isn’t loose. If there are multiple modules, try pulling out one at a time and see which one is causing the BSOD. If it isn’t the RAM it could be the HDD or any other failing hardware.
