I have followed all the steps shared in all stackoverflow and other questions out there to install gettext for windows (10), but still, I get the error: «Can’t find msguniq, make sure you have gettext tools installed» when using internationalization in django. I have tried to download the files directly and added them to the PATH, and even an installer that had already compiled everything and added to the path automatically, but it still doesn’t work, and I don’t know what else to do… Help please!

In windows you just need to download :
gettext-tools-xx.zip
gettext-runtime-xx.zip
from here: enter link description here
and then you need to unzip them and copy all in bin folder of both files into C:Program Filesgettext-utilsbin and then you need to go to control panel-> system -> advanced -> environment variables and add this path:C:Program Filesgettext-utilsbin to path variables. Note:
xx is the version you want to download if you download version 18 you will get an error that some dll file is missing, I suggest to download version 17
this folder: gettext-utilsbin does not exist and you need to create it
restart your pc before you use gettext

В windows нужно просто скачать:
Gettext-tools-xx.zip gettext-runtime-xx.zip отсюда: введите описание ссылки здесь
А затем вам нужно распаковать их и скопировать все в папке bin обоих файлов в C: Program Files gettext-utils bin, а затем вам нужно перейти в панель управления-> система -> расширенные -> переменные среды и добавить это путь: C: Program Files gettext-utils bin к переменным пути. Примечание:

This is an unofficial build of GNU gettext tools for Windows. The repository
contains build scripts, but there are also up-to-date binaries published at

How to build it
The easiest way to use these tools is to just download the binaries or use the
Gettext.Tools NuGet package.
If you prefer to build it yourself, it’s simple enough:
- You need to have a recent version of MSYS2 and MinGW-w64 installed from
https://www.msys2.org; run all subsequent commands within a MinGW 32 shell. - Install required packages:
pacman -S mingw-w64-i686-gcc automake autoconf pkg-config make zip patch tar - Run
make distormake archiveto build everything.
Good luck, building GNU gettext on MinGW tends to break once in a while due to
MinGW or gettext or gnulib changes (hence this project…).

on windows7/windows10 you have to download gettext-iconv-windows , try the following url:

after you download it and install it , close and reopen your CMD , and then try to use your command again .
