Trying to get Rayman 2 to work on Windows 10. I’ve seen links about an x64 patch, but they all appear to be down. Does anyone have it or a link to it? Or a patch that removes the 16-bit DRM?

I know about the GOG version, I’m not buying it.

This site really helped me a lot! I dusted off my copy a few days ago and had trouble starting. Install went fine but the game always crashed in the beginning or would not even start even though I’ve tried all the compatibility modes. I’m using ‘nGlide’ and it works perfect! Playing on a 64-bit Windows 10 system with highest resolution and no trouble whatsoever This site mentions several problems that might occur and respective solutions so definitely check it out!

Ive searched for such a patch but it is nowhere to be found. Only way is to get yourself a newer version, like GOG.

I don’t have room to set my windows 98 pc back up, so I guess my only hope is to wait and see if GOG allows you to reclaim the copy of the game you already own (unlikely).

Could you devise new patcher working in Windows 10 64bit ? I would like to play R2 in Windows 10 64bit.

Rayman 2 uses SafeDisc. If you are unsure about other disc protected disc, you can use the included Disc Type Analyser located at the bottom next to the Web icon on the Imageassistant window. Be prepared for a looooooooong ripping time.

I got R2 copyed in «Safedisk» option with Alcohol 120% successfully, taking 20 minutes or around with x4 reading speed.
The game is now working along with the CD image mdf mds in Windows 10 using the files copyed from CD that Carrot-master suggested to me in the previous post !!

Yeah ! Thank you Snagglebee !! I was too sad not able to play Rayman 2 so I was searching a patch for the Win7 problem for several hours… and the solution was on the english forum of the PC… I should come here more often haha !

I had the original CD, I just wanted to use it and play ! No emulator, no GoG ! Just Snagglebee !

Just for informatiom

I found that Rayman 2 can be installed normally from game CD to Windows 10 Pro 64bit as of 22 Feb. 2016.
W10 has been updated to build 1511 and got some incremental updates onto build 1511 now.
In this environment, I ran SetupUbi.exe on CD with no compatibility and finished the installation successfully.
Running GXSetup.exe without any compatibility ;

Then with game CD in the drive, started the game with Rayman2.exe with the compatibility to «Windows98/ME». Booyah !!

So, when I start rayman 2 game, a strange window apperaed http://i.imgur.com/DkorikS.png?1 I am from Poland I translated it and I know that the text tells:»Problem with startup. No system memory». I checked the GXSetup.exe and it shows : http://i.imgur.com/0vQ023A.png . The square with «Can use system memory » and «Can use AGP memory» are with the «x» . Maybe this is the problem. How to mark this square? Clicking on this squares doesnt work!!!

Try running as admin. The game may not have the correct permissions to use your systems memory. The boxes in the setup can’t be checked or unchecked as it’s just to display the settings rather than giving you the option to change them.

I tried to run as administartor, but still the window with problem appeared :<
Later I found the torrent with GOG Game Rayman 2 ,I installed it and it works!

Aamm «Brak pamięci systemu» means ”System out of memory» in English.
Looking into http://i.imgur.com/0vQ023A.png , AGP video memory has x mark, which is different from my case;

So you «have installed» R2 but could not run it, could you ?

This patcher is for INSTALLATION , and has nothing to do with «could not play R2».
Once you already installed the game, the issue you have is caused by another reason.
Did you run GXSetup.exe with its compatibility «WindowsXP SP2» before you launched Rayman2.exe to set up DirectX for it ?
Also your Windows 8 must set for Direct Play to make DirectX components effective for the game;

I forgot to tell one more thing about ubi.ini file.
The file was made in WindowsUbisoft folder as you run GXSetup.exe to set the game play. But the file should be in the game installed directory when you play in x64 bit OS such as Windows 7/8/10 x64 although it was made in WindowsUbisoft folder. So after GXSetup run, you should copy and paste the file into the game installed directory.

Any chance someone can upload the patcher? Everytime during the installation process on my Windows 8.1, it freezes at 21%, and then I have to close it out.

Решение проблем в Rayman 2: The Great Escape — не устанавливается? Не запускается? Тормозит? Вылетает? Лагает? Ошибка? Не загружается?

К сожалению, в играх бывают изъяны: тормоза, низкий FPS, вылеты, зависания, баги и другие мелкие и не очень ошибки. Нередко проблемы начинаются еще до начала игры, когда она не устанавливается, не загружается или даже не скачивается. Да и сам компьютер иногда чудит, и тогда в Rayman 3D вместо картинки черный экран, не работает управление, не слышно звук или что-нибудь еще.

Что сделать в первую очередь

Скачайте и запустите всемирно известный CCleaner (скачать по прямой ссылке) — это программа, которая очистит ваш компьютер от ненужного мусора, в результате чего система станет работать быстрее после первой же перезагрузки;
Обновите все драйверы в системе с помощью программы Driver Updater (скачать по прямой ссылке) — она просканирует ваш компьютер и обновит все драйверы до актуальной версии за 5 минут;
Установите Advanced System Optimizer (скачать по прямой ссылке) и включите в ней игровой режим, который завершит бесполезные фоновые процессы во время запуска игр и повысит производительность в игре.

Системные требования Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Второе, что стоит сделать при возникновении каких-либо проблем с Rayman 3D, это свериться с системными требованиями. По-хорошему делать это нужно еще до покупки, чтобы не пожалеть о потраченных деньгах.

Минимальные системные требования Rayman 2: The Great Escape:

Windows XP, Процессор: 1 GHz, 256 MB ОЗУ, DirectX 9.0, Клавиатура, мышь

Каждому геймеру следует хотя бы немного разбираться в комплектующих, знать, зачем нужна видеокарта, процессор и другие штуки в системном блоке.

Файлы, драйверы и библиотеки

Практически каждое устройство в компьютере требует набор специального программного обеспечения. Это драйверы, библиотеки и прочие файлы, которые обеспечивают правильную работу компьютера.

Начать стоит с драйверов для видеокарты. Современные графические карты производятся только двумя крупными компаниями — Nvidia и AMD. Выяснив, продукт какой из них крутит кулерами в системном блоке, отправляемся на официальный сайт и загружаем пакет свежих драйверов:

Обязательным условием для успешного функционирования Rayman 3D является наличие самых свежих драйверов для всех устройств в системе. Скачайте утилиту Driver Updater, чтобы легко и быстро загрузить последние версии драйверов и установить их одним щелчком мыши:

загрузите Driver Updater и запустите программу;
произведите сканирование системы (обычно оно занимает не более пяти минут);

Rayman 3D не скачивается. Долгое скачивание. Решение

Скорость лично вашего интернет-канала не является единственно определяющей скорость загрузки. Если раздающий сервер работает на скорости, скажем, 5 Мб в секунду, то ваши 100 Мб делу не помогут.

Если Rayman 2: The Great Escape совсем не скачивается, то это может происходить сразу по куче причин: неправильно настроен роутер, проблемы на стороне провайдера, кот погрыз кабель или, в конце-концов, упавший сервер на стороне сервиса, откуда скачивается игра.

Rayman 3D не устанавливается. Прекращена установка. Решение

Перед тем, как начать установку Rayman 2: The Great Escape, нужно еще раз обязательно проверить, какой объем она занимает на диске. Если же проблема с наличием свободного места на диске исключена, то следует провести диагностику диска. Возможно, в нем уже накопилось много «битых» секторов, и он банально неисправен?

В Windows есть стандартные средства проверки состояния HDD- и SSD-накопителей, но лучше всего воспользоваться специализированными программами.

Но нельзя также исключать и вероятность того, что из-за обрыва соединения загрузка прошла неудачно, такое тоже бывает. А если устанавливаете Rayman 2: The Great Escape с диска, то стоит поглядеть, нет ли на носителе царапин и чужеродных веществ!

Выдает ли Rayman 2: The Great Escape какую-нибудь ошибку после вылета? Если да, то какой у нее текст? Возможно, она не поддерживает вашу видеокарту или какое-то другое оборудование? Или ей не хватает оперативной памяти?

Например, если ваша материнская плата имеет встроенную видеокарту, но играете вы на дискретной, то Rayman 2: The Great Escape может в первый раз запускаться на встроенной, при этом самой игры вы не увидите, ведь монитор подключен к дискретной видеокарте.

Во-вторых, цветные экраны бывают при проблемах с выводом изображения на экран. Это может происходить по разным причинам. Например, Rayman 2: The Great Escape не может наладить работу через устаревший драйвер или не поддерживает видеокарту. Также черный/белый экран может выводиться при работе на разрешениях, которые не поддерживаются игрой.

Быть может, ваша видеокарта уже давно исчерпала свой рабочий ресурс или процессор греется до опасных температур?Проверить загрузку и температуры для видеокарты и процессоров проще всего в программе MSI Afterburner. При желании можно даже выводить эти и многие другие параметры поверх картинки Rayman 3D.Какие температуры опасны? Процессоры и видеокарты имеют разные рабочие температуры. У видеокарт они обычно составляют 60-80 градусов по Цельсию. У процессоров немного ниже — 40-70 градусов. Если температура процессора выше, то следует проверить состояние термопасты. Возможно, она уже высохла и требует замены.Если греется видеокарта, то стоит воспользоваться драйвером или официальной утилитой от производителя. Нужно увеличить количество оборотов кулеров и проверить, снизится ли рабочая температура.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape тормозит. Низкий FPS. Просадки частоты кадров. Решение

Разрешение теней — определяет, насколько детальной будет тень, отбрасываемая объектом. Если в игре динамические тени, то загружает ядро видеокарты, а если используется заранее созданный рендер, то «ест» видеопамять.
Мягкие тени — сглаживание неровностей на самих тенях, обычно эта опция дается вместе с динамическими тенями. Вне зависимости от типа теней нагружает видеокарту в реальном времени.

Многие путают «тормоза» с «лагами», но эти проблемы имеют совершенно разные причины. Rayman 2: The Great Escape тормозит, когда снижается частота кадров, с которой картинка выводится на монитор, и лагает, когда задержка при обращении к серверу или любому другому хосту слишком высокая.

Именно поэтому «лаги» могут быть только в сетевых играх. Причины разные: плохой сетевой код, физическая удаленность от серверов, загруженность сети, неправильно настроенный роутер, низкая скорость интернет-соединения.

Follow this guide from point 8 to adjust the FOV (or it will look zoomed in). For resolutions greater than 2048 pixels, use a wrapper such as nGlide or dgVoodoo 2 and set it in `GXSetup.exe` or edit `ubi.ini`. Make sure your aspect ratio settings are set to fit to the entire screen, if you are using a wrapper. Notes HUD scaling is fixed. Setting a 4:3 resolution in the `ubi.ini` configuration file with a bigger panoramic resolution than in the wrapper’s configuration, will force a higher resolution in the game, with a less distorted typeface for text (at the cost of a very slight graphic sharpness change though). Objects at screen edges will disappear with Hor+ aspect ratio. For some people using this permanent patch helped. If not, and you want to change FOV permanently, watch this guide from point 8. If you use retail version with original installer, you need this to fix «Please insert the CD» error on game startup.^[7]
