Надумал я поиграть в старенького Макс Пейна. Вспомнить, как оно. Даже лицензию стимовскую приобрёл (без руссификатора, правда). Хотя напрямую в Steam она не продаётся.

Запустил. Но столкнулся с проблемой.

При старте «новой игры», во время загрузки мне выдаётся масса предупреждений об ошибках, на которых пишет примерно следующее: «Corrupt JPEG data: premature end of data segment». Их там много, но они все выглядят однотипно и начинаются с «Corrupt JPEG data:…».

Далее следует стартовая заставка и в следующей загрузке начинается примерно то же самое, но после нескольких таких предупреждений следует окно уже с выдачей критической ошибки и после нажатия «Ок» игра вылетает на рабочий стол.

Ну, ещё ко всему этому, добавляется растягивание изображения на широкий экран. Но это уже меньшая проблема.

После стимовской версии, попробовал даже скачать пиратку, но там абсолютно та же история. Пробовал 2 версии — 1.04 и 1.05. Картина не меняется.

Запуск от имени администратора и совместимость с Win98 не помогает.

To Fix the sound and limit FPS to 60:

  1. Go to Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features>Turn Windows Features on or off>Legacy Components>Enable Direct Play and .NET 3.5 Framework support

  2. Put all the files into the C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonMax Payne

  3. Run the MaxBatch bat file

  4. For sound fix just launch the C option and wait for the files to convert

  5. Type E to exit the script.

  6. When launching Max Payne on Windows 11 or Windows 10 in the Options select Enable Task Switching.

  7. (Optional) To avoid seeing white texture shapes in game leave Antialiasing on off when configuring graphics options.

NB! Only for AMD CPUs USERS JPEG issues fix:

6 Replace rlmfc.dll in C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonMax Payne with the one provided in the FOR AMD CPUs Fix folder in this repo

NB! Dual Laptop GPU’s ONLY!

  1. Donwload everything extract
  2. Copy all files from Reshade Dual GPU’s Laptops folder C:Program Files (x86)SteamsteamappscommonMax Payne
  3. Go to your NVIDIA Control Panel>3D Settings>Global find the preferred GPU and set it to NVIDIA
  4. Run the MaxBatch bat file
  5. For sound fix just launch the C option and wait for the files to convert
  6. Type E to exit the script.
  7. Enjoy

  1. Launch the game at least once and play the tutorial level for a bit.Exit
  2. Start Menu->Run and type in regedit. Press Enter.
  3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Remedy Entertainment->Max Payne.
  4. Click on the ‘Game Level’ folder, and some items will appear on the right side of the screen.
  5. Right-Click and select New-DWORD Value
  6. Double-Click on the entry you just made and set the value to 1.
  7. Rename the entries to the following:
  • hell for Dead On Arrival mode
  • nightmare for Hard-Broiled mode
  • timedmode for New York Minute mode

NB! This fix needs to be used on a clean/fresh version of Max Payne installed it will not work with a bunch of other stuff installed because of API conflicts(software layer),same as any other fix

  1. Uninstall Max Payne
  2. Delete the Max Payne folder in C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon
  3. Download all the files in the repo

  5. Run the MaxBatch file again
  6. Press C wait for files to convert then E
  7. Launch game

Для улучшения качества графики вам необходимо владеть игрой Max Payne.

Приветствую вас дорогой читатель! Здесь и сейчас я хочу сделать гайд по тому, как сделать последний выстрел поставив жирную точку в этой истории с 4к текстурами и повышенным fps.

(Улучшать качество текстур мы будем через нейросеть ESRGAN)

Давайте начнем!

Для начала устанавливаем 4 архива. (Я расскажу, что делает каждый из них)

Данный патч повышает максимальную планку затрачивания оперативки игрой.

Это нужно для мода, который повышает качество текстур в несколько раз, а также делает более объемное освещение в игре.

Чтобы установить переходим на сайт и скачиваем выделенную ссылку.

Данный же патч нужен для корректной работы звука в игре, так как изначально Max Payne делался под Windows XP из-за этого звук на более поздних версиях иногда не работает.

Чтобы установить нажимаем по выделенной кнопке на сайте.

Патч для нормальной работы с современными мониторами.

Скачиваем выделенную ссылку.

Самая сочная часть из всех модификаций, так как именно этот мод улучшает качество текстур и разрешения.

Переходим на сайт и скачиваем.

Установка всего!

Теперь можем начинать махинации с игрой.

Для начала переходим в папку с игрой

Я делаю это через свойство — расположение файла

Новые текстуры и освещение

Открываем архив MPRemastered1.3 и перекидываем все содержимое в папку с игрой

Если потребуется замена файлов, то не пугайтесь, просто спокойно заменяйте.

Поддержка широкоформатных мониторов

Заходим в архив maxpaynewidescreenfix и также перекидываем все находящиеся в нем файлы в папку с игрой. (с заменой)

Работа со звуком

Для корректной работы звука нам необходимо будет сделать чуть больше действий.

Для начала также перекидываем все файлы находящиеся в архиве MaxPayneSoundPatchv1.12 в папку с игрой.

Далее среди файлов, которые мы закинули в папку, ищем батник MaxBatch и запускаем его.

После запуска у нас должна открыться консоль, где у вас на заднем фоне может быть два цвета

1. Зеленый — значит, что все файлы прошли успешно проверку

В данном случае мы просто нажимаем C, после ENTER и ждем конвертацию игры до слова Finished, после можем закрыть консоль.

2. Красный — значит, что среди какого-то файла есть ошибка.

Если у вас ошибка как у меня, то не беспокойтесь и делаете все также как и с зеленым цветом.

Теперь можем закрыть консоль.

Последний патч

Чтобы установить последний патч нам нужно извлечь файл, который находится в архиве 4gb_patch куда угодно.

Теперь открываем экзешник и переходим папку с игрой.

В папке находим MaxPayne.exe, тыкаем на него и нажимаем кнопку открыть.

После должно появиться окно.

В нем нажимаем кнопу OK

Почти все!

Осталось сделать несколько шагов для того чтобы все работало.

Для начала создаем блокнот и прописываем в нем команду: start /affinity 1 MaxPayne.exe (Данная команда нам нужна для корректной работы игры.)

Сохраняем блокнот как батник в папке с игрой. (Желательно, чтобы название вашего файла было на Английском языке)

Теперь создаем ярлык батника на рабочем столе. (Им мы будем теперь запускать игру)

Я изменил значок, чтобы было глазу приятнее.

Запускаем наш файл, который мы создали и должны увидеть вот такое меню.

В нем мы переходим в опции и выставляем все как у меня.

Можем запускать игру.

В игре мы должны зайти в опции — видео, там мы должны будем повысить резкость текстур до максимума.

Поздравляю! Если у вас все получилось, то можете теперь насладиться улыбкой Макса в высоком разрешении.
