Как исправить ошибку “Error finding installer class” при запуске установки Matlab?
Многим инженерам, проектировщикам и программистам хорошо знаком программный комплекс Matlab, позволяющий писать программы с использованием собственного языка программирования.
У многих при попытке его установить появляется ошибка с заголовком “Installer Error”, а дальше текст ошибки “Error finding installer class An exception occured while looking for class”. Причем происходит это вне зависимости от версии Matlab и версии операционной системы.
В данной статье вы узнаете почему появляется эта ошибка, не дающая установить Matlab на ваш компьютер, а также что сделать, чтобы данную ошибку исправить.
Почему появляется “Error finding installer class”?
Причины появления данной ошибки заключаются в том, что в пути расположения установочного файла Matlab присутствуют кириллические символы (русские).
К примеру вы скачали установочный файл Matlab на диск D, в папку с названием “Загрузки”. И путь к установщику выглядит так: D:/Загрузки. При таком его расположении при попытке запустить установку Matlab вы получите известную ошибку “Error finding installer class”.
Как исправить ошибку при установке Matlab?
Чтобы исключить ошибку “Error finding installer class” нужно расположить установочные файлы (папку с установочными файлами) по пути, не содержащем русских символов. Например вместо D:/Загрузки или C:/Users/Иван/Decktop (Рабочий стол) переместить установочный пакет на диск D:/123 или C:/install.
После этого запускаете установку желательно от имени администратора и спокойно устанавливаете Matlab на свой компьютер, минуя ошибку “Error finding installer class”.

I’m at my wit’s end trying to install MatLab. I have homework that’s due, and it won’t install for me.
I have a «Lenovo ideapad» laptop with a Windows 10 operating system.
I have already loaded my key onto MathWorks and downloaded the installer. I clicked on «Log In with a MathWorks account» and accepted the terms. I typed in my correct MathWorks account name and password. I only have one license, so it was already highlighted; I’ve also tried clicking on it to make sure it was selected. It asks me to choose an installation folder, and I accept the default folder name they suggest. After I click on «Next» from this point, it brings up a window that says the following:
«Connection Error
» The application could not connect to MathWorks.
After clicking on «OK», it takes me back to the screen I was just at, for choosing an installation folder.
I checked the support article the link led me to, but nothing has helped so far. I have no clue why it won’t connect. Keep in mind that this is the MathWorks Installer program; I haven’t been able to install MatLab yet.
Please help??? Nobody at my school knew what to do about this either. {:-(

I appreciate everyone’s help.
I was able to call the contact number and they got me in touch with the Install Team.
It turns out that the problem was very simple: My computer just needed two environment variables set. After those were set and I restarted the installation program, everything worked as it should.
In case someone reading this has the exact same problem, here are the fixing instructions (keep in mind I’m on a Lenovo laptop with a Windows 10 operating system):
First, he had me do a «start menu»/Cortana search for «Environment Variables».
«Once in the Environment variable menu please use the steps below to set both system environment variables:
- Under System Variables, select New.
- Set the first variable name «JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS» with the value of «-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true» (enter these without the quotation marks)
- select New again.
- Set the second variable name «JAVA_OPTIONS» with the value of «-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true» (enter these without the quotation marks) and click on OK
- Click OK again on the previous screen and try the installer again.
«NOTE: Once the installation is complete you can remove these environment variables.»

Did you read it? Does the given solution help? If not, please mention, what you have tried. Firewall, Proxy, Anti-Virus software, destination not a local disk?
I didn’t think the advice applied to me since my McAfee is no longer active. It didn’t occur to me until recently that there’s got to be a place to disable Windows Defender.
Following the advice in the support article, I just found my Windows Defender Security Center and disabled «Real-time Protection», «Cloud-delivered Protection», and «Automatic Sample Submission» (all that was listed that I could disable). However, it didn’t make a difference. It still gives me the same error. {:-(

As many other Matlab users I am on a corporate network with lots of cooky stuff which I have no control of whatsoever. I’ve wasted a day tweaking Proxy, Firewall and Java (Antivirus is absolutely out of my control). Still could not install Matlab.
However I could instal Matlab AFTER uninstalling a program named ZScaler and all of it instances from the «Apps & Features» dialog (Add or remove programs system setting). This miserable ZScaler is a part of some sort of corporate cloud solution and messes things up pretty badly.
Ripp this ZScaler off your computer and you will be able to install Matlab. All my cloud drives still work, at least in te office area. I am on W10.

This did work for me for the first time. But I didn’t complete the installation process (as I was not sure which all products I needed to install). Now when I run the installer, I face the same connection error mentioned above.

Microsoft windows 10 home single language is already installed on my computer. I downloaded the matlab and then extracted file but when I try to install it by clicking setup icon but it doesn’t work. Mouse icon shows try to working on but nothing happens. Please help

Hi Matlab Community! I have activation key, but I cannot install Matlab in my windows 10. My laptop has 8GB ram, 2.4GHz intel Core i5 processor (64bit). When I was trying to install, it goes upto the step of configuring «Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable (x64)». After then, it disappears. I tried different versions of R2015b, R2015aSP1, R2015a with both 64bit & 32bit. How can I solve this problem?

I had exactly the same problem. I managed to solve it by downloading the latest Microsoft Visual c++ redistributable and removing the 2005 one. I needed to restart the system and then Windows went for the new Microsoft Visual c++ redistributable and the Installation worked.

The Windows 10 computer freezes when trying to install Matlab. Other versions of Matlab are not installing either.
Solution
Here are some ways to fix the Matlab installation problem:
Look at The System Requirements of Matlab
As stated on the Matlab Answers Forum on 24 Aug 2015:
“MATLAB R2015a is supported on Windows 10.
Earlier releases of MATLAB are not supported and are not guaranteed to work on Windows 10.”
The R2016b version of Matlab seems to be available for 64-bit processors only. R2016a (and all later versions) have no 32-bit version. So, you will need to request them in order to download an earlier version. R2015b may be the last one that had a 32-bit version.
Try Installing The Latest Version of Matlab
Try installing the latest version of Matlab on Windows 10. Current versions only support a 64-bit processor but so does Windows 10. So, Matlab should work as long as you’re running Windows 10.

The 32 bit and 64-bit types are actually specifications of processor architecture. It is pretty easy to tell which one you have. Click here to learn how to find out if your computer is running a 32 bit or a 64-bit processor.
