On next releases will be add partmgr/disk from Server 2003 to XP to get GPT support, Storachi driver (standard AHCI driver from Microsoft), nvme driver, XHCI driver and a custom version of ntoskrnl_emu. Others on future too, like NDIS 6;

  • Gimp 2.8 startup and file open/save fixed. Now, alright work fine.

  • Spotify v1.0.60.492 (supported at this moment) login error fixed. Now, fields to place credentials are visible and not dw32 error reporter is called;

  • For Chromium, you must need use a unzipped version and create a shortcut with paremeters: «—no-sandbox —wave-audio;

  • Visual Studio Code 1.19 — 1.25 (before working) now not open. Maybe it is related GetQueuedCompletionStatusEx implementation, need improvement;

  • When install office 2010 on Windows XP with pre-installed One-Core-API packages, logon has delay;

Version 2.4.0

What is new:

  • Fixed behavior of Chrome 88+ running on XP/2003, always getting «Aw, snap». Now, we can navigate with all tabs.
  • Fixed font rendering on Chrome 80+. Before, font was rendered so too small, now, has normal size.
  • Fixed behavior with MyPal 68: before, all tabs crash, specilly youtube. Now, working fine.
  • Fixed taskdialog buttons action on utorrent. Now, all buttons works.
  • Now, uxthemebase (native uxtheme) is patched by default, so, you can use custom themes.
  • Added oleacc with exported function: «PropMgrClient_LookupProp» by default. This is a try to prevent missing function error.
  • Now exported «GetQueuedCompletionStatusEx» to kernel32/kernebase, some applications require it.

Known bugs:

  • Paint.Net get a unhandled error when open;

Version 2.3.0

What is new:

  • Bring several new applications to run on XP/2003/XP x64, including Chrome until version 100 by changing and improving TLS (Thread Local Storage) mechanism, like did on Vista+. Firefox only version 54 is working, because need more work to do.
  • Fix new versions of spofity on XP/2003, by fixing kernel32 export table.
  • Fix Server 2003 and XP x64 on Real hardware. Before, we got a BSOD in both systems. Now working fine.
  • Fix use of CPU above normal on idle time on Server 2003 and XP x64.
  • Fix IE 8 disk space leak with Tempory Internet Files folder using almost entire disk space caused by SetFileInformationByHandle wrong implemented, now using fileext implementation
  • Now Skype 7.8 work
  • Updated Wined3d to 7.6

Regressions:
-Avast not working anymore. Need be investigate to fix;
-Firefox x64 not working anymore on XP x64. Need be investigate to fix.

Welcome to One-Core-API binaries!

This repositry contains binary releases of the One-Core-API project. These are compatible with Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows XP SP3 and Windows XP
x64 SP2.

Folders in this repository:

  • Documents: Project documentation, known bugs, sfxcab usage (for making installers), etc.
  • Packagesx86 and Packagesx64: Binary releases categorized by package. You can download and install/update the packages directly from here (i.e. by going to Packagesx86Base installerupdate and runnning update.exe).
  • Todo: To do tasks
  • Test: Some binaries and documents for testing.

The One-Core-API Binaries project consists of the following packages:

  • Base: One-Core-API base. This package is required by all other packages, except Kernel Standalone, and contains all wrappers used in this project (like kernelbase and ntext);
  • Additional Dlls: Several new dlls introduced in later versions of Windows.
  • API-SET: Contains UCRT dlls based on wine.
  • D3d: D3D runtime (Mainly DX10 and DX11, based on WineD3D);
  • Kernel Standalone: Experimental kernel update. Does not depend on the Base package. This package cannot be installed alongside any other packages, except App Compat.
  • App Compat: Application compatbility settings, backported from later versions of Windows.

One-Core-API allows you to run:

  • Web Storm 2018;
  • Intelliji 2018 (Other versions may work too);

Known Limitations:

  • When you install Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 on VirtualBox, by default, APIC option is disabled. For now, One-Core-API has limitation on cannot be installed on Machine with only PIC mode (ACPI option) enabled. So, you MUST enable APIC mode on VM options to use One-Core-API on Windows XP/2003 inside Virtual Box;
  • The unique language on binaries for now is English. You can install on Windows with another language, however, several dialogs and strings will be displayed in engilsh;
  • New applications installers may not work, like Chrome, Maxthon, Utorrent, Discord, Team vieweretc crash and application isn’t installed. Need
    use a pre-installed version, copied from other operation system;
  • Some installers like VS Code and Skype genereate a erro «Class is not supported» on shortcut phase creation;
  • Chrome has stability and crash randomy. Extension isn’t supported for now. Downloads crash application or has network error, depend of version;
  • Firefox 55 or above is not working, only mypal 68 (firefox fork);
  • Firefox 54 32 bits not working on Windows XP x64. Chrome 61+ not working too;
  • The packages cannot be integrate with nlite to Windows Iso, because use a tool called «SFXCAB Substitute», not standard Microsoft version;
  • Standard .Net Framework Installers starting 4.6 ins’t supported for now. You need a repacked version like did here: https://github.com/abbodi1406/dotNetFx4xW7. And avaliable like here: https://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/13805-microsoft-net-framework-472-full-x86x64-incl-language-packs-by-ricktendo/#comment-123251. Other versions are avaliable too, search on forum topics;
  • Palemoon version 27-31 not download anything. Download not start;
  • MiniChrome 87 has a issue related with high usage cpu. It is related with UpdateProcThreadAttribute, but, this function is needed for others applications, like standard chrome;
  • Opera 39+ crash on start;
  • Qt5 application what use Dwrite crash on startup. Has some glitches like black screen if you delete dwrite (application start and can be used, however)

Installation order of packages:

  • App Compat only: This package can be installed without any other packages;

  • Base first: Base-> D3d -> API-SET -> Driver Update -> App Compat-> Additional Dlls;

  • AppCompat first: App Compat -> Base -> Driver Update -> D3d -> API-SET -> Additional Dlls.

Пакет программ из «MultiBoot 2k10» — находка для любого ХП-шечника

Существует очень функциональный загрузочный диск, который можно записать на DVD или флешку и использовать для ремонта/восстановления ПК. Называется «MultiBoot 2k10 7.37 Unofficial».

В описании имеется пункт «Cписок программ в сборке», в котором упоминается десяток утилит для работы с дисками, разбивка, восстановление данных. На самом деле — это всего-лишь 1% от общего количества встроенных программ. В состав «MultiBoot 2k10 7.37» включены сотни разнородных программ в портативной редакции — это антивирусы, архиваторы, СD утилиты, драйверпаки, текстовые редакторы, файлменеджеры, программы работы с графикой, сетью, системой, медиаплееры, просмотрщики картинок, конвертеры и многое другое — несколько сотен разных программ, лежащих в папке «Programs-2k10» объёмом 1,4 ГБ.

Главное достоинство этого множества — все программы портативны, отвязаны от системы и записаны версиями, работоспособными под Виндовс ХП. Это целая находка для любого ХП-шечника — огромная подборка лучших программ на все случаи жизни. Достаточно скачать файл «MultiBoot 2k10 7.37 Unofficial.iso» (размер 4.10 GB) и распаковать из него папку «Programs-2k10».

Информация для новичков, кто не может найти нужные DLL в One-Core-API для WinRaR 6.10. Также эта информация пригодится всем, кто будет адаптировать приложения, написанные для новых систем для запуска в Windows XP.

Искомые файлы (на примере 1.0) лежат в папках One-Core-API-Binaries-1.0Packagesx86Base Installer внутри архива (4шт. из 5) и последний в папке One-Core-API-Binaries-1.0Packagesx86Base InstallerWinSxSwinxpx86_Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.3790.5190_x-ww_319264BE

В версии 1.1 аналогично, с необходимой поправкой на имена папок: One-Core-API-Binaries-1.1Packagesx86Base Installer (4 из 5) и One-Core-API-Binaries-1.1Packagesx86Base InstallerWinSxSwinxpx86_Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.3790.5190_x-ww_319264BE (последний).

Небольшие правки.
Оказывается, в предыдущей версии патченого WinRar не работала какая-то кнопочка. Вот уже исправленная, финальная версия WinRAR 6.10 Rus, работоспособная в Windows XP.

Пропатченная финальная русская версия WinRAR 6.11 для XP SP3 (пароль на архив 1, если хотите, можете перепаковать в ZIP и удалить RarExt64.dll).

Алгоритм такой (для XP SP3): распаковываете в папку C:Program FilesWinRAR поверх существующих файлов. В этой папке уже должен лежать Ваш купленный лицензионный ключ WinRAR 2.60 (и выше) от предыдущей версии (например, 6.02), и Ваша лицензия подхватится сама. Мне очень обидно, что автор прекратил поддержку самой распространённой операционной системы, но я по-прежнему использую в XP SP3 лицензионную версию (слегка модифицированную, раз официальная не работает).

Кстати, Warcraft III Frozen Throne нормально себя чухает и на 7-ке (выше не пробовал). Сам его время от времени перепрохожу.
Плюс, поглядываю на Warcraft 3 Reforged, там поддержка широких мониторов и обновленного графония подвезли. Но первые версии были глючноваты по отзывам.

Ну правильно — вам x64 сборка нужна, а эти x86 с поддержкой 4Gb+ памяти…

Есть драйвер для 3COM 3C940. В Windows XP x64 при 2 Гбайт ОЗУ драйвер устанавливается моментально и сетка работает отлично. Как только ставлю 4 Гбайт ОЗУ, карта висит с ! и при установке драйвера всё виснет. Кто-нибудь знает, как решить проблему без уменьшения объёма ОЗУ? Выключение Memory Remap не влияет на результат.
