Important: QuickTime 7 for Windows is no longer supported by Apple. New versions of Windows since 2009 have included support for the key media formats, such as H.264 and AAC, that QuickTime 7 enabled. All current Windows web browsers support video without the need for browser plug-ins. If you no longer need QuickTime 7 on your PC, follow the instructions for uninstalling QuickTime 7 for Windows.
What’s New in QuickTime 7.7.9
QuickTime 7.7.9 contains security updates and is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users on Windows. For information on the security content of this update, please visit this website: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT201222.
The QuickTime web browser plug-in is no longer installed by default and is removed if you have a previous version of QuickTime on your PC. If you still need this legacy plug-in, you can add it back using the custom setup option in the installer.
QuickTime 7 is for use with Windows Vista or Windows 7. If installed on other versions of Windows, it may not offer full functionality.
Notice to QuickTime 6 Pro users
Installing QuickTime 7 or later will disable the QuickTime Pro functionality in prior versions of QuickTime, such as QuickTime 6. If you are a QuickTime 6 Pro user, see this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT201691#compatibility before proceeding with this installation.

Quick Time — проигрывает как файлы собственного формата, широко представленного в интернете (QT), так и наиболее распространенные медиаформаты. Во многих случаях незаменим для просмотра потокового видео из Интернет.
- Поддержка формата MPEG-4. Вы получаете возможность проигрывать и создавать файлы в формате .mp4, которые могут проигрываться на любом MPEG-4 совместимом мультимедийном проигрывателе (например, DivX).
- Поддержка AAC Audio. Этот формат считается новым словом в области профессиональной компрессии звука, превосходящим по некоторым параметрам существующий MPEG Layer 3 (MP3).
- Функция Instant-On. Она позволяет получить практически моментальное плавное продолжение воспроизведения для on-line видео и аудио потока при прокрутке его фрагмента.
- Skip Protection. Патентованная технология, увеличивающая надёжность воспроизведения мультимедийного потокового сигнала при трансляции в Internet.
- Новый интерфейс и новые дополнительные возможности: видео кодек DVC Pro PAL, поддержка Macromedia Flash 5, новый кодек JPEG 2000 для MacOS X, улучшенная поддержка AppleScript, более удобная работа с закладками в Избранном (Favorites).
Внимание! Компания Apple больше не поддерживает программу QuickTime 7 для ОС Windows. Во всех версиях ОС Windows реализована поддержка основных медиаформатов, например H.264 и AAC, для работы с которыми было необходимо ПО QuickTime 7. Все современные веб-браузеры для ОС Windows поддерживают воспроизведение видео без установки дополнительных плагинов.

QuickTime Alternative — видео-кодек для воспроизведения на компьютере QuickTime-медиафайлов. Данный программный продукт призван частично заменить функционал мультимедиа-проигрывателя QuickTime Player, позволяя воспроизводить мультимедиа некоторых традиционных для данного плеера форматов.
Программа QuickTime Alternative не является самостоятельным медиаплеером, а устанавливается на компьютер в качестве видео-плагина со встроенными кодеками, позволяющими другим мультимедиа-проигрывателям воспроизводить видео в форматах MOV, QT и других. Кроме того, кодек также может быть встроен в интернет-браузер, что позволит просматривать прямо на веб-страницах онлайн-видео форматов, разработанных специально для владельцев Apple-устройств или пользователей полнофункционального QuickTime Player.
В качестве вспомогательных компонентов в QuickTime Alternative включены:
- Основной программный контент — QuickTime-кодеки.

Freeware

Open Source

Free to Play
This license is commonly used for video games and it allows users to download and play the game for free. Demo
Demo programs have a limited functionality for free, but charge for an advanced set of features or for the removal of advertisements from the program’s interfaces.
