Embarcadero Dev-C++ is a new and improved fork (sponsored by Embarcadero) of Bloodshed Dev-C++ and Orwell Dev-C++. It is a full-featured Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and code editor for the C/C++ programming language. It uses Mingw port of GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) as its compiler. Embarcadero Dev-C++ can also be used in combination with Cygwin or any other GCC based compiler. Embarcadero Dev-C++ is built using the latest version of Embarcadero Delphi. Embarcadero Dev-C++ has a low memory footprint because it is a native Windows application and does not use Electron.

Currently there’s still some work to do, and the support lack: The IDE isn’t as stable as needed, the Astyle menù item isn’t working in some conditions, the project clean also fail in some condition, and the additionall UI Themes provided are quite useless and ugly.
Moreover there are just few releases quite old: it seems to me that even this Dev-C++ evolution became a zombie!
Honestly, at this moment (September 2022), I should say that IMHO a better Dev-C++ evolution — for teaching and developing simple C++ programs — could be another SourceForge Dev-C++ project: «Red Panda Dev C++» (version 1.2 and following).
Hope to see asap a better release also from Embarcadero, as I was a Borland Turbo C++ developer and also a C++Builder buyer.
In my opinion, when it comes to writing applications on C language — this IDE is handier than the Visual Studio. For one simple reason — It just works!
When I need to add a library to the project, I just need to add .c and .h files to the project. That’s it! Unfortunately, can’t say the same about the Visual Studio.
Although sometimes Embarcadero Dev-C++ doesn’t seem to work as stable as the Visual Studio, it’s convenience, speed, and ease-of-use are overshadowing all of its flaws making it a worthy alternative to the Visual Studio.

DEV-C++ is a fully-featured integrated development environment (IDE) for creating, debugging, and creating applications written in a popular C++ programming language.

Enter the project name and choose a location to save the project
Write your code in the code editor
Compile and run your code by clicking on «Execute» or pressing F9
Repeat the process to make changes to your code or add new features to your project

Even though Embarcadero DEV-C++ is filled with advanced compiler, debugger, and a wide array of dev tools, it’s installation package is quite small (only around 50 MB) and therefore can be easily installed on any modern Windows PC or laptop. Just follow the onscreen instructions, and in mere seconds DEV C plus plus will be ready for running. Other more developed modern IDE environments, on the other hand, require much more storage space, and their installation can run for minutes.

Once up and running, you will be welcomed in a user-friendly interface that can be additionally customized to better fit your needs. The main window of the app follows the basic structure of many other modern IDE environments, with a top row of dropdown menus and buttons that are shortcuts to its many built-in tools, a large vertical three-tabbed area for managing Projects, Classes and Debug listings, and of course, the main project area (with support for tabs) where you can start programming your apps. How to Install

Go to the official website of DEV-C++ or FileHorse.com
Click on the «Free Download» button.
Select the version of DEV-C++ you want to download (either the setup file or the zip file).
Download the file to your computer (desktop or laptop).
If you have chosen the setup file, run it to install DEV-C++. If you have chosen the zip file, extract its contents to a desired location on your computer.
Once the installation is complete or the contents have been extracted, you can start using DEV-C++ by opening the executable file.

Bloodshed DEV-C++ — бесплатная среда для разработки программ на С++. Доступна работа с консольными приложениями и графическим Windows API. Присутствует удобный инструмент создания инсталляционных пакетов.

Новички смогут воспользоваться одним из шаблонов с готовыми кодами. При компилировании такой заготовки, можно создать простое приложение на Win API. Итоги компиляции отображаются во всплывающем диалоговом окне. На фоне большинства аналогов, текст кода располагается по центру рабочей области интерфейса, что весьма удобно.

Софт долгое время не получает обновлений, однако основатели проекта предлагают более современные версии wxDev-C++ и Orwell Dev-C++.
