Double-click on the program to run it. It will then scan your computer and identify any problem drivers. You will see a results page similar to the one below:

Note: I created this thread in r/techsupport and assumed it would be ok to cross-post the same thread.

Device Manager displays both my monitors as Generic PnP monitors with c:windowssystem32driversmonitor.sys drivers. I can’t seem to force win10 to accept my downloaded drivers.

Two monitors are: Viewsonic XG2401 and Acer G247HU. Using Win10 64 bit operating system and AMD R9 390 graphics card

Steps I have tried:

• downloading DDU to remove all display drivers.

• Let AMD auto-installer choose the right graphics drivers for me

• download signed win10 x64 driver from Viewsonic website. The installer tells me «Your monitor is not found. Please dowload Standard_monitor_driver_unsigned file.

• download Standard_monitor_driver_unsigned_windows_x64 and after using installer’s remove previous drivers try this install. «These monitor drivers do not support this operating system!

• Download generic Standard Monitor Driver Unsigned Windows file and run installer. Get a pop up that says, «Please click on Install this driver software anyway». Press OK. Then, «The viewsonic wizard has successfully installed your monitor drivers.

• Check device manager, monitor is still listed as Generic PnP with generic driver details.

• My C drive is filled with .icm files

I’ve had no success with installing the Acer drivers either.

Does the issue lie in needing to disable driver signature enforcement? https://support.hidemyass.com/hc/en-us/articles/202723596-How-to-disable-Driver-Signing-check-on-Windows

I tried these steps when troubleshooting the Acer drivers but there seemed to be no effect on denying the signing enforcement.

note: I have both monitors connected to the same graphics card; Viewsonic (displayport) and Acer (HDMI)
