If you have Synology disk stations in your network, then you must utilize this tool for easy and optimal management. Synology Assistant helps the users when they have multiple computers connected via LAN. The application initiates with the scan of the entire computer. After scanning, all the detected devices would be fit in the appropriate lists.
This application also works from the tray. You can minimize the Synology Assistant, and it would still perform the functions for which it has been designed, thus providing the users with an easy option to manage the programs and applications on which they are working.
It has a multi-tabbed interface providing you with many features each managed through a separate tab. You can view all the details of the ongoing processes, print, or search the relevant data from the disk station. The presence of a multi-featured tab helps to organize better your data and thus making the application easy to use.
The Management tab allows you to map the drive or search for relevant information. The resource monitor tab will enable you to have a complete look at the information about disk stations. The printer device tab, which is the third tab, allows you to get a print of all the relevant data to share it with other users or to save it for future reference.

With the recent redesign of their website, it’s nearly impossible to find out where to download Synology Assistant. After some digging around, I finally found out where it was hidden.

Scroll down to the bottom of the list for the latest version. In addition to the latest version, all previous versions of the Synology Assistant are available too. On the resulting screen, click on your operating system: Windows, Mac, Ubuntu, or Fedora. That’s it! Easy peasy.
Where Did Synology Assistant Go?
Since the redesign of the Synology website, most supplemental NAS software has seemingly gone missing. Links to this NAS software from Google are redirected to the Synology Download Center.
This would be okay, except Synology has categorized its download based on its products. For example, you must select your product type and model number to find any associated downloads. When you finally get to the page with your product, you won’t find any link to the Synology Assistant download. Further investigation through the drop down menus turns nothing up.
I finally found the download that I linked above by clicking on the All Downloads link as illustrated below.

This took me to the “Index of” page at https://archive.synology.com/download/. By navigating to the root, you can then proceed to Tools then Assistant.
I’m not sure why Synology has hidden the link to download Synology Assistant and other such software. But at the very least, my hope is that this blog post has helped you find what you were looking for today. If it has, take a few seconds and let me know in the comments below.

Использование программы
Утилита сканирует вашу сеть при первом запуске и определяет активные устройства и принтеры. Меню полностью на русском языке, что облегчает процесс работы. Посмотреть информацию о каждом подключенном оборудовании можно в соответствующем списке. Synology Assistant можно свернуть, чтобы программа не мешала работать и все процессы останутся активными. Информацию можно получить из системного трея.
Возможности утилиты
Чтобы найти доступные дисковые станции в локальной сети, перейдите в раздел «Управление». Опция позволяет не только подключиться к устройству из сети, но и оптимизировать параметр WOL. Это позволяет пользователю на удаленном расстоянии включать сервер. Для контроля ресурсов сервера используется вкладка «Монитор ресурсов». Пользователь получает достоверную информацию о состоянии памяти и ЦП. Для запуска нового окна, из которого можно выбрать другой сервер, используйте кнопку «Добавить». Чтобы вручную установить соединение с сервером, введите значение хоста, протокола и имя порта. В случае, если отсутствует возможность автоматического обновления IP-адреса принтера, выберите в соответствующем разделе устройство и нажмите «изменить».
