Microsoft выпустила руководство, которое помогает обновить неподдерживаемые смартфоны до Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update. Хотя эти устройства больше не имеют права на обновление функций, они все еще поддерживаются компанией Microsoft в отношении накопительных обновлений.

Вот необходимый порядок действий:

• Если вы используете неподдерживаемое устройство и уже работаете на базе Windows 10 Creators Update (Build 15063): Перейдите в Настройки> Обновление и безопасность> Windows Insider Program и переключитесь на кольцо Release Preview, чтобы продолжить получать накопительные обновления для сборки 15063. The wait is over, Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update is finally available for all supported phones and the update is being rolled out in phases to the general public. The Fall Creators Update for Mobile is the last major update for the mobile operating system, the future updates will only include minor bug fixes and security improvements.

Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update is not available for all Windows Phones, if you are using a Lumia 730 or 930, you cannot officially upgrade to the Fall Creators Update. If you wish to ignore Microsoft’s advice and get the Fall Creators Update on the unsupported phones, we’ve got you covered. Before we get started, have a look at the list of supported phones for the Fall Creators Update.

If your Windows Phone isn’t listed above, the time has come when you will need to ‘hack’ the phone and force the Fall Creators Update. However, before hacking the phone, you can try to get the update on your phone from Windows Insider’s Fast or Release Preview Ring settings. We accept no responsibility for any damages that may result when unofficially upgrading the phone to the Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update.

To install the Fall Creators Update on unsupported phones, you need to fool Microsoft systems and make them believe that your unsupported phone is actually the Lumia 950 XL, a supported Windows Phone. Unlike old days, you are not supposed to manually edit the registry to install the updates, the XDA Developers have created a new app that lets you install the Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update on unsupported Lumia. To install the update, do the following:

  1. Download and install DTH Upgrade Advisor. (Learn how to sideload apps to your phone).
  2. Start the app on your phone.
  3. Click on ‘Backup my phone’.
  4. Select your device model; Single SIM or Dual SIM.
  5. Click on ‘Tap on allow update’ – The phone will reboot and now the device would be Lumia 950 XL, if it is not. Skip this method and read the second method (you will find it at bottom of this article, below 512MB RAM tutorial).
  6. Once your phone is changed to Lumia 950 XL, just go to Settings and select Fast Ring.
  7. The update will start downloading to your phone, once it is installed successfully, opt out of the Insider program.
  8. Go to the DTH Upgrade Advisor and restore the backup of your device, this will undo the changes made to your phone while the phone will stay on Fall Creators Update.

To download and install Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update on 512MB RAM Windows Phones, do the following:

  1. Download and install DTH Upgrade Advisor for 512MB phones. (Learn how to sideload apps to your phone).
  2. Start the app -> Backup my phone -> Allow Updates for 512MB RAM devices.
  3. And that’s it. You can now follow complete the setup, from Method 1 -> Step 6.

The DTH Upgrade Advisor might not work on some phones. If it is not working on your phone, you will need to make changes to your phone, here’s how you can install the Fall Creators Update.

  1. Perform a hard reset.
  2. Don’t setup Wi-Fi or Mobile Data (remove SIM before resetting), the internet connection should be disabled.
  3. Go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Developer Tools and enable developer mode.
  4. Sideload DHTUpgrade Advisor (or for 512MB RAM) and Dependencies, learn the steps here.
  5. Download and install Interop Tools.
  6. Hit on Restore NDTKSvc (Why? Because the method 1 didn’t work as the registry wasn’t updating, once you will Restore NDTKSvc, you can change your phone to Lumia 950 XL).
  7. Open DHTUpgrade Advisor and click on Allow update or Allow Update for 512MB RAM devices.
  8. Go to Settings -> System -> About and check whether or not your phone is Lumia 950 (XL). If it is not, restart your phone by holding the power button until it vibrates.
  9. Go to Windows Store and disable Auto app updates otherwise, the new Extras & Info app will ruin your hard work.
  10. Install official Upgrade Advisor app and follow the onscreen instructions. If it says the phone is up-to-date, you can ignore the message and go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for update and the phone will download the available updates.

Please note that these workarounds are not endorsed by us or Microsoft, this could result in the device becoming bricked. You can however always use Windows Device Recovery Tool to recover your phone but if something, somewhere goes wrong, you won’t able to boot your Windows Phone again.
