Windows 7 build 7000
Windows 7 build 7000 is the official beta build of Windows 7, which was released to the public on 7 January 2009. It was, however, compiled on 12 December 2008, 26 days before its public release. Prior to its release, this build was claimed to have been shared online on or before 21 December 2008. [1]

Unlike other Windows 7 builds, it contains a broken timebomb and can be installed on the current date.
Personalization [ edit | edit source ]
Similar to build 6936, changing themes is not possible if this build is installed on the current date.
Superbar [ edit | edit source ]
Similar to build 6956, upgrading to this build will result in an additional Windows Media Player icon being placed on the Superbar if there is only 1 or 2 Windows Media Player icons prior to the upgrade.

If you change the titlebar to the largest size, a bugcheck will occur.
German version [ edit | edit source ]
This build has three untranslated notifications in the German version, saying «Find an antivirus program online», «Set up Windows Update» and «Update Windows Defender» in English instead of German. The same also for the «Send feedback» shortcut on the desktop.

Black screen of death and broken services [ edit | edit source ]
The so-called Black screen of death and broken services that affects Windows Vista on certain processors, especially on Intel Haswell and later is fixed in this build. [2]

О русской локализации в бета версии.
Прежде всего говорилось что будут выпущены локализированные бета версии Windows 7 Beta в том числе и русская версия, но никто не говорил что русский язык будет доступен сразу в английской версии, это исключено!
Сейчас все ещё под вопросом появление отдельно русской локализованной русской бета версии, хотя у нас есть на этот счет точная информация. Хотя из других источников звучат утверждения что русская сборка появится только на стадии релиз-кандидата.

The next iteration of the Windows client has moved out of the pre-Beta development stage and has already been released to testers. Windows 7 Beta is live after just three Milestone releases, leaving behind 69xx build numbers and jumping to the 7000 Build. Moreover, just as it was the case with previous development milestone releases of Windows Vista’s successor, Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 has been leaked and made available for download from various third-party sources including top BitTorrent websites. This, in the context in which Microsoft insists that the Windows 7 public Beta will only start being offered in January 2009.
At this point in time, only the 32-bit edition of Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 can be grabbed via repositories for pirated content by any users with a BitTorrent client. Even though the 64-bit flavor of first fully-fledged Beta for the operating system has also been served to Microsoft’s official and select pool of testers, just the bits for the x86 variant of the platform have been leaked.
Unconfirmed speculations indicated that the Windows 7 Beta code had been signed off internally as early as December 12, 2008, and that the Redmond company was handing over the code for testing even ahead of Christmas. Microsoft failed to comment in any manner on the leaked information related to Windows 7 Beta Build 7000. However, Build 6.1.7000.0.081212-1400, which was reported to be the first Beta for Windows 7, is now live and up for grabs, although the general public will indeed have to wait until January 2009 in order to access the bits from a Microsoft official source.
The leaked Windows 7 Beta Build 6.1.7000.0.081212-1400 release comes packed as an ISO DVD, weighing in some 2.44 GB. The image is meant to be burned on a DVD and then installed either on a physical computer or a virtual machine. According to Microsoft, the Windows 7 Operating System Beta, as the release is referred to via the End Users License Agreement included with the Beta bits and accessible through the installation process, is time-bombed and set to expire on July 1, 2009. Users can install and run Windows 7 Beta Build 6.1.7000.0.081212-1400 without a product key, and need only prolong the initial grace period via slmgr.

Introduction: Download and Install Windows 7 Beta (Build 7000) on Your Computer
In this instructable, I will show you how to download the beta of windows 7 onto a dvd (file size is 3.7 gigs) and install it on your computer. Lets get started.
Step 1: Lets Get to the Website First!
Ok. Give Windows 7 a visit, and download the image based on your pc’s architecture (32 bit or 64 bit). Also, choose the language you want to install it in.
Step 2: Have You A…Windows Live Account?
If you dont have a windows live account, sign up right now. Then, you will need to provide your name, and other things. Please fill them all out. or, you can just click cancel.
Step 3: Finally…the Installation!!!
On the proceeding page, they will give you the product key to activate the install. then, click download on the bottom. A screen will pop up, and ask for permission to install something from akamai tech. click yes, and wait for a few hours or so untill the install finishes. Then, mount the image on a dvd or use daemon tools and run it on your pc.
