I had this exact same error message and have been pulling my hair out for the last two weeks trying to solve it. I even bought a new motherboard, CPU, and HD and got the same error. Urgghh!
Well when I finally figured out what it was I was so relieved and so angry at the same time! IT WAS THE SATA CABLE! I’ve never had a problem with a SATA cable before so I never even thought about replacing it. The one that turned out to be faulty was one of the thin ones, but I’ve used many of these in the past without incident. This may or may not be the cause of your problem, but try it. Have a great Xmas and all the best for the new year!— from answers.microsoft

  • Hi,

    The hi level steps are:

    • Obtain Windows installation media
    • Insert Windows installation media into your computer
    • Set up your computer’s BIOS so that it starts from the installation media.
    • Restart your computer and follow the instructions that are displayed.
    • Initialy, you will have to answer a few questions, such as where do you want to install Windows, regional settings and so on.
    • After initial questions are answered, the set up program will partition and format the disk and install all the files that make the Windows operational.
    • After the setup is complete, you usually have to install drivers for undetected devices, install updates and applications.

    Good luck,

    Les

  • I have done with all the steps. But the problem I’m facing is that after partitioning of the drives when I click next it started copying files and after some time I got the error message showing —

«Windows could not format a partition on disk 0. The error occurred
    while preparing the computer’s system volume. Error code : 0 X 80070057».

    Please
help me in this. Thank You in
    advance.

  • Your problem might be caused by hardware.

First, try to set your computer BIOS to change the mode of access to your disk. The disk can be accessed in IDE mode and AHCI mode. Try to set IDE mode and retry installation.

Second. Try to move your disk to another computer and repartition and reformat the disk there. Again, set the disk access mode in BIOS to IDE. If you succeed in another computer, return to the first computer and do some troubleshooting, for example, connect
your disk to another SATA connector, and replace the disk cables.
