Способ 1: Отключение безопасного режима

Самый банальный совет, который можно дать по данной теме, когда Виндовс загружается только в безопасном режиме, — отключение этого самого безопасного режима. Есть вероятность, что Windows отказывается загружаться в штатном режиме из-за проблем с целостностью системных файлов. Для их проверки чаще всего используются системные средства в виде консольных утилит. Способ 3: Удаление графического драйвера

По большей части данный метод подходит тем пользователям, кто недавно только установил драйверы на свой графический адаптер или обновил их. Это могло даже произойти автоматически, без вашего ведома, поэтому рекомендуем всем воспользоваться этой рекомендацией, если другие не принесут должного результата. Суть способа заключается в удалении драйвера видеокарты с дальнейшей его переустановкой уже после загрузки ОС в штатном режиме. Не переживайте, черный экран в этом случае не появится, поскольку будет использован стандартный драйвер, по умолчанию присутствующий в Windows. Может поменяться только разрешение экрана, упав до минимального.

После загрузки Windows в безопасном режиме нажмите по кнопке «Пуск» правой кнопкой мыши и из появившегося контекстного меню выберите пункт «Диспетчер устройств».

В новом окне отыщите список «Видеоадаптеры» и разверните его.

Щелкните правой кнопкой мыши по используемому графическому адаптеру и выберите пункт «Удалить устройство», после чего подтвердите его удаление вместе с драйвером.

После успешного удаления отправьте компьютер на перезагрузку и проверьте, сможет ли он загрузиться в обычном режиме. Допускается, что после неудачной установки последних обновлений для операционной системы Windows перестала загружаться в обычном режиме, переходя постоянно в безопасный. Это может быть вызвано как системными сбоями, так и прерванным процессом установки апдейтов. Откатить изменения можно вручную, используя для этого системную настройку.

Откройте меню «Пуск» и перейдите в «Параметры», кликнув по значку с шестеренкой.

В новом окне найдите раздел «Центр обновления Windows» и перейдите к категории «Журнал обновлений».

I cannot start Windows 10 in normal mode but only in safe mode. I use Windows 10 Home version 10.0.14393. I get error code 0x8007043c-0x90016. I know my product code (I do not mention it in this message) and also the ID 00326-10000-00000-AA768.

I tried everything without any success:

— systemrepair and system file check

— Windows10Upgrade9252.exe

— MediaCreationTool.exe

— startmenu-1diagcab

— MicrosoftProgram_Install_and_Uninstall.meta.diagcab

Please help me.

Hi,

Type Windows key + R to open a run dialog and then type msconfig in the box and press enter.

On the Boot tab uncheck boot into safe mode, restart to test result.

If no help, system restore is worth trying.

There are a lot of different reasons when our computer won’t able to start normally and showing us some kind of problem while booting windows, but not every problem is the same, sometimes we are able to start our windows in safe mode even when your Operating System broke down.

First of all, don’t even get tensed about it because when your windows files get corrupted it won’t let you to open your computer in any single mode or condition but it’s a good thing that you can still able to boot your computer in the safe mode and it will be more helpful to you while when you’ll fixing your computer.

So, people having this problem in different conditions and that’s why I make this tutorial a little bit different and divide it into three different parts.

Every part having a list of solutions for a particular condition what people are facing while having this “Computer Only Starts In Safe Mode” problem.

Here’s the list of all three condition what people are facing:

When you turn on your computer, it will automatically start in safe mode.
When you turn on your computer, it will only show you black blank screen but your windows work normally in safe mode.
When you turn on your computer, it will automatically restarts while in between windows is loading.

So, Let’s See the Solution

Solution for Condition No. 1 – System Automatically Starts In Safe Mode

When we change our system’s boot setting to open our computer in safe mode and after when we have done with the work in safe mode, we just restarts our computer to boot back in a normal mode, but sometimes things didn’t seem to turn out normal and create some kind of a problem.

So, yes it’s possible too, that your system can’t able to start normally and just automatically boot into the safe mode.

In that case, you can try two things to make your computer to boot in a normal mode and those two things are:

Change OS Boot Setting
Clean Boot

1; Change OS Boot Setting – Mainly I want you to open your Windows System Configuration and change the boot setting to default because it’s possible that it can be the reason for this problem to come up in your windows.

So, to change the setting you’ll need to open Windows System Configuration by using the run command or maybe search on the windows start menu. To open run command you’ll have to press “Windows + R” key and then type “msconfig” without quotes in the blank field and then press enter.

After that, you can able to see your Windows System Configuration pop-up and in the boot tab from the above menu, you will find the boot options setting what your windows is currently using right now.

If you found your safe mode options is ticked already then I’ll suggest you to uncheck that checkbox and save the setting by clicking on the “Apply” button, after that restarts your computer to see the changes.

If you found your system have already unchecked this option, then I want to move to the next solution listed down below.

2; Clean Boot – We are doing a clean boot to remove all extra startup process or features which can possibly cause this problem. Actually, the clean boot is performed to starts your operating system by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.

To perform a clean boot, open your “System Configuration” again and disable all the extra services and startup programs. Here’s a picture attached below to show you how to do it.

Solution for Condition No. 2 – System Shows Black Screen But Works Normal In Safe Mode

Sometimes it does happen when we start our computer and it only shows us a black blank screen on the computer’s display and when we try to start our computer in safe mode it works just fine.

There are so make reasons behind this problem to come up and it’s be like your corrupted windows or drivers or maybe some system service is working improperly.

So, now I’ve written all possible solutions what you can try to fix your computer right now:

1^st Solution. Sfc /Scannow: Sfc Scan is a great command run by CMD which can you to repair your windows by just typing a single command on your windows command prompt.

You’ll just only have to type the command on CMD and sit back until the scan completes and it will repair most of your windows file.

Open the CMD as an administrator.
Type the command “Sfc /Scannow” and hit enter.

Note: Doesn’t close this CMD window until the verification gets 100% complete.

Restart your computer and test it, if the problem has gone, that’s good, if don’t, then move to the next solution.

2^nd Solution. Fix Drivers: By saying fixing drivers I mean fixing video drivers, I’m suggesting this because sometimes our system video drivers got corrupted and our computer start to create this type of problem.

So, now I want you open your Windows Device Manager while using safe mode and then search for your Videos/Graphic Drivers in the driver’s list and uninstall that particular video driver, after that just restarts your computer and that time you don’t need to open your system in safe mode and I’m 90% sure it will defiantly fix your blank screen problem.

To do that, now you need to open your device manager by using run command. So, press “Windows + R” key to open the run commander and then type “devmgmt.msc” in the blank field to open the device manager.

And after that just unfold the display drivers folder and then select and right click on your display drivers and select uninstall and then click “OK” to confirm.

3^rd Solution. Last Knows Good Configuration: If you are using an older version of windows and your windows is showing you advance boot options on system startup with the “Last Knows Good Configuration” option like the picture given below, then you’re so lucky because now you can quick fix your PC by just selecting this option.

Believe it or not, but it does fix the problem most of the times:

Solution For Condition No. 3 – System In Restart Loop While Booting Windows But Open Normal In Safe Mode

Sometimes it does happen when we start our computer and in the middle of system loading it does restart and repeat this whole booting and restart process again and again.

If you are having that kind of problem with you then it’s possible your windows got corrupted and forgot their boot volume or maybe your C: drive got inactive too.

Make Your C: Drive Active – An active partition is a partition in your computer’s hard disk which known as bootable partition who contain your PC’s operating system. Normally only one partition can be active at the time like C: drive where mainly our windows is installed.

Sometimes that partition got inactive due to some reasons and we’ll need to reactive it in order to show it on recovery options.

So, First open cmd on your computer’s screen and then type the command what I’m all listed down below:

Command #1 – diskpart

Command #2 – list disk

Command #3 – select disk 0

In this step, we’re selecting our main hard drive where your window is installed. In my case, I’m selecting disk 0 because that’s the only drive shown in my cmd and that’s also the one where my OS is installed.

Command #4 – list partition

Command #5 – select partition 2

Normally we are selecting partition 2 because that’s our windows partition, but that not proves we will always need to select the 2^nd one because sometimes partition 1 can be our windows partition too. So, select the partition where your windows is installed.

Note: Never Select 100 MB, 350 MB And 500 MB Partitions.

Command #6 – active

Command #7 – exit

Now restart your computer and open the system recovery options again to see the changes in it.

I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.
- Are you trying to login the Microsoft account or the Local account in safe mode?
- Did you try with only safe mode or safe mode with networking?
- What is the critical error you are getting?
If you are using Windows 10. To go to safe mode you have to follow the below steps.

If you are able to go to login screen in normal mode try the below steps to go to safe mode with networking.
- At the login screen click on the power symbol.
- Hold SHIFT + Click Restart.
- After restarting your system, select the Troubleshoot option.
- Select advanced options under
  Troubleshoot screen.
- Click on Startup Settings.

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.　

If you see the black screen or have a flickering screen:

Step 1: Try connecting to different video outputs on the PC. Sometimes a change in driver can cause the video to be sent:

To a different Adapter: from integrated graphics to a discrete card or vice versa.

To a different output: from HDMI to DVI, Display Port to VGA, or any other combination.

Step 2: Try to boot into Safe Mode with Networking
or Enable low-resolution video.

Advanced boot options, Safe Mode with Networking, or Low Resolution Video

Check Device Manager and look for Display Adapters

If you see 2 items under Display Adapters, disable to integrated video card (e.g. Intel HD 4000 or AMD Radeon HD 4200) and restart. (try vice versa if it does not work).

If you see 1 item under Display Adapters, rollback the driver or uninstall the display adapter in Device Manager, and enable the option to delete driver software.

How to boot into Safe mode.

Run your computer in Safe mode and see if you still get that error message. If you are not getting that error message in safe mode then perform clean boot on your computer using the steps provided below. If you
don’t get that error message in safe mode then it means that some third party application is causing the problem.

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:

Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the
F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

Select an option Safe mode with Networking using the arrow keys on the keyboard when the
Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe mode with Networking and then press
ENTER.

I would suggest you to force shutdown your system and then try to restart it again and check if you are able to login to safe boot.

Check the PC or display adapter manufacturer’s site for an updated driver.

Hello, this is my first post so sorry if I do something wrong. My problem is that my PC freezes on windows 10 normal mode but not safe mode. When it does I need to force shutdown. To see if this problem was still present I booted up from a flash drive that had Linux and it still froze. I uninstalled my graphics drivers as I was afraid it might be a driver problem, but still nothing. I also reset the ram and Changed the cmos battery.
My computer is only 6months old and here are the specs in case you need them.
Processor: Intel core i7-4790k @4ghz
RAM: 16 (2x) 8gb corsair dominator
System Type: 64-bit Windows
Edition: Windows 10
Video Card: Gigabyte Gtx 1080 g1
Network card: PsuI’m not sure but ill look if needed
Hard Drive: wd blue 1tb 7200rpm
PSU: Evga 550w gold
mobo: Gigabyte GA‑Z97X‑Gaming 5 ATX

I can, I set all my startup apps to disable, and stopped all services. But after the restart and it goes back to normal mode it freezes. Before I go to safe mode I have to remove the gpu so it gives me more time to get there. Also on Linux, I have to have the GPU installed to be able to work (somewhat) as it comes up with a different error and doesn’t freeze.

Ok, I managed to perform a clean boot, I believe so, after running in administrator. I followed all the steps to boot into clean boot. But after it prompts me to restart to apply changes and it boots up. It freezes again in the login screen. Should I still do sfc/scannow?

While in safe mode after I got all the settings for it to be clean boot I clicked apply and it told me to restart to apply changes. After it restarted im guessing I was in clean boot? (it froze in the login screen) do I continue and use the update troubleshooter?

Ok, so I ran sfc /scannow on both safemode with networking and with safemode cmd. Both after completion said Windows Resource protection did not find any integrity violations.

Ok, after I deleted the intel graphics drivers it worked until it installed by itself I guess. (then it froze again) Apparently it doesn’t freeze with Microsoft basic display adapter then

Also it took a whole minute before freezing so I got some time to do things in normal mode until it re-installs the drivers and freezes again.

I’ve never had such a weird issue. I hope we are getting close (I’m getting burned out).

Device manager? Are both video adapters ‘ok’?

Check BIOS setup while checking settings in motherboard manual…could your system have an overlapping setting with both video adapters? Or, if not using the intel graphics, a way to disable/turn it off?

Let’s try another angle. Remove your powerful video card and see if it freezes when you run only with the intel graphics. If it runs fine with the card out, locate and try a less powerful card. If it doesn’t freeze with that, then it is the card or the PSU.

The 1080 takes a lot of juice and your PSU might be marginal — but we need to check before just throwing money at it or you will end of with a closet full of ‘maybe good’ stuff. Since your stuff is all currently on market, you could put together your system on pcpartpicker and see if everything ties together on paper.

Did a lot of research. Ok, I removed the card. It froze still, I disabled the intel HD graphics and it WORKED! I have no idea how it’s working. But once I enable it back on or insert the video card it freezes again. So it has to be a video driver issue right?

Try disabling Intel graphics, running DDU to remove all drivers and installing fresh WHQL nVidia drivers and running just the nVidia card

Removing gpu and Disabling the intel hd graphics allowed it to work without safe mode. But once I turn it back on or install my gpu back in place it freezes. Gpu freezes it in both safe and normal mode. And I cant install nvidia drivers unless it is installed because it software won’t allow it.

So I installed Windows 10 on a flash drive so I could re-install windows but turns out it freezes in the setup wizard as well.

While I was using my PC, the screen suddenly entered sleep mode, then said «No Signal» and refused to accept any input, while the screen remained black. I restarted it and Windows said there is a problem and offered to repair it, so I allowed it. It then said the repair is complete and restarted itself, and then comes the problem:

PC starts, beeps one time (the beep that says everything is OK), shows windows logo, almost finishes up loading, the windows logo animation freezes, says «No Signal», the screen goes light black (as in full black but still emits light) and remains that way, unable to be controlled.
I was able to start it then in Safe Mode with Networking, and it works as fine as it could (currently typing from here), but when I try the Normal mode, the same issue occurs. The windows repair program said it is unable to repair, but gave me the following error:

Problem Signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385
Problem Signature 04: 21199736
Problem Signature 05: AutoFailover
Problem Signature 06: 2
Problem Signature 07: BadDriver

I looked up online, but everything suggested I format my PC. I am not sure this is a malware, I rather think this is something related to the hardware, so if someone has an idea if I should change my HDD or if something else may be causing it, please let me know. I updated the NVIDIA GeForce 770 drivers up to date, although it may be the video card, still. Please confirm if there is no option rather than formatting my whole PC (and if that is still going to help?)

If Startup Repair doesn’t fix the issue, try System Restore or System File Checker

What to Know

Use these tips if you’re «looped» back to the Startup Settings or ABO screen when trying to boot in Safe Mode.
Be sure to try every other startup method available to you if you haven’t already.
If none work, likely solutions include a Windows repair, System Restore, or repairing protected Windows files.

The Startup Settings (Windows 11, 10 & and Advanced Boot Options menus (Windows 7, Vista, and XP) help to start Windows in specially configured ways to circumvent whatever problem prevents it from starting normally.

However, what if every option you try fails, and you’re right back at one of those screens when your computer restarts?

Why Your PC Won’t Start in Safe Mode

This Startup Settings loop or Advanced Boot Options loop, depending on your version of Windows, is a common way in which Windows won’t start. The reason could be that there’s an issue with important system files necessary to load Safe Mode.

Follow this troubleshooting guide if your computer returns to the Startup Settings or ABO Screen on every attempt to enter Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, and other startup methods.

Startup Settings (Windows 8).

How to Fix a Computer That Always Stops at Startup Settings or Advanced Boot Options

You have several options:

Try to start Windows in every startup method available.
- Start Windows in Safe Mode
- Start Windows with the Last Known Good Configuration
You may have already done this, but if not, know that these startup methods are there because they help avoid one or more specific problems that prevent Windows from loading.

Try the option to start Windows normally as well—you never know.

See the tips at the bottom of the page for help if Windows does actually start in one of the three modes above.
Repair your Windows installation. The most common reason for Windows to continuously return you to the Startup Settings or Advanced Boot Options menu is because one or more important Windows files are damaged or missing. Repairing Windows replaces these important files without removing or changing anything else on your computer.

In Windows 11, 10, 8, 7 & Vista, this is called a Startup Repair. Windows XP refers to it as a Repair Installation.

Advanced Options (Windows 10).

The Windows XP Repair Installation is more complicated and has more drawbacks than the Startup Repair available in later Windows operating systems. So, if you’re an XP user, you may want to wait until you’ve tried these other steps first.
Perform a System Restore to undo recent changes.

Windows could be returning to the Startup Settings or Advanced Boot Options menu because of damage to a driver, important file, or part of the registry. A System Restore will return all of those things to the state they were in at a time when your computer worked fine, which could solve your problem entirely.

Windows 11, 10 & 8: System Restore is available outside Windows from the Advanced Startup Options menu.

Windows 7 & Vista: System Restore is available from outside of Windows 7 & Vista via System Recovery Options and is most easily available when booting from your Windows installation disc. If you’re using Windows 7, System Recovery Options is also available right here from the Advanced Boot Options menu as the Repair Your Computer option. However, this may not work depending on what’s causing your overall problem, so you may have to boot to the installation disc after all.

Another Option for Windows 11, 10, 8, or 7: If you don’t have your Windows installation disc or flash drive, but you do have access to another computer with one of those versions of Windows installed, like another in the house or a friend’s, you can create repair media from there that you can use to complete this step on your broken computer. See How to Create a Windows 7 System Repair Disc or How to Create a Windows Recovery Drive for tutorials.

Windows XP & Me Users: This troubleshooting option does not apply to you. System Restore was made available from a bootable disc starting with the release of Windows Vista.
Use the System File Checker command to repair protected Windows files. A damaged operating system-related file could be preventing you from getting past the Startup Settings or Advanced Boot Options menu, and the sfc command could fix the problem.

Since you can’t access Windows right now, you’ll need to execute this command from the Command Prompt available from Advanced Startup Options (Windows 11, 10 & or System Recovery Options (Windows 7 & Vista). See the notes above about accessing these diagnostic areas.

Windows XP & Me Users: Again, this troubleshooting option is unavailable to you. System File Checker is only available from within Windows in your operating system.

The chances are that if the Windows repair you tried in Step 2 didn’t work, then this won’t either, but it’s worth a shot considering the hardware-focused troubleshooting up next.
Clear the CMOS. Clearing the BIOS memory on your motherboard will return the BIOS settings to their factory default levels. A BIOS misconfiguration could be why Windows won’t even start in Safe Mode.

If clearing the CMOS does fix your Windows startup problem, make sure any changes you make in BIOS are completed one at a time, so if the issue returns, you’ll know which change caused the problem.
Replace the CMOS battery if your computer is more than three years old or if it’s been off for an extended amount of time.

CMOS batteries are inexpensive, and one that is no longer keeping a charge can cause all sorts of strange behavior during the Windows startup process.
Reseat everything you can get your hands on. Reseating will reestablish the various connections inside your computer and could clear up the glitch that’s causing Windows to get stuck at the Advanced Boot Options or Startup Settings screen.

Try reseating the following hardware and then see if Windows will start properly:
- Reseat all internal data and power cables
- Reseat the memory modules
- Reseat any expansion cards
Unplug and reattach your keyboard, mouse, and other external devices.
Test the RAM. If one of your computer’s RAM modules fails, your computer won’t even turn on. However, memory fails slowly and will work up to a point most of the time.

If your system memory is failing, Windows may be unable to start in any mode.

Replace the memory in your computer if the memory test shows any problem.

The next two steps involve more difficult and destructive solutions to Windows getting stuck at the Startup Settings or Advanced Boot Options menu. It may be that one of the below solutions is necessary to fix your problem, but if you haven’t been diligent in your troubleshooting up to this point, you can’t know for sure that one of the easier solutions above isn’t the right one.
Test the hard drive. A physical problem with your hard drive could be why Windows might not start as it should. A hard drive that can’t read and write information properly certainly can’t load an operating system properly—even Safe Mode.

Replace your hard drive if your tests show an error. After replacing the hard drive, you’ll need to perform a clean installation.

If your hard drive passes your test, the hard drive is physically fine, so the cause of your problem must be with Windows, in which case the next step will solve the problem.
Perform a clean install of Windows. This type of installation erases the drive Windows is installed on and then install the operating system again from scratch.

Tips and More Information

If Windows will start in one or more of the Safe Mode options, but that’s it, continue with the troubleshooting steps on this page, which will be a bit easier to complete thanks to your access to Safe Mode.

If Windows starts after enabling Last Known Good Configuration, some change made after the last time your computer started correctly caused this problem, and the error may return if the same changes are made. If you can avoid causing the same problem again, there’s nothing more to do, and everything should be fine.

If Windows starts with low-resolution video enabled, then there’s a huge chance that your computer’s video card is glitchy:

First, try to adjust the screen resolution to something more comfortable and see if the problem goes away. If not, go to the next step.
Borrow a working monitor from another computer and try it.
Update the drivers to the video card.
Test your computer’s memory and replace the memory if tests show any problem.
Replace the video card or add a video card if your video is integrated into the motherboard.
