Для каждого антивируса эта процедура индивидуально и следует обратиться к его справочной системе. Стоит отметить, что вы делаете это на свой страх и риск. Игра тормозит и лагает

The game in question is Plants Vs Zombies. We’ve been playing it for months before the error happened. The only change I’ve made is that my CDROM drive broke recently, and I’m now using a CDROM drive that is connected by a USB port.

There are two different user accounts on the computer, and two different profiles within the game. In the past we could log on using our own user accounts, and then choose which user profile we wanted. However, the game opens for me, and I can open my profile. I can see my girlfriends profile, but I cannot open it. My girlfriend cannot open the game at all.

ANYWAY upon re opening the game I got the

I have tried EVERYTHING listed on other peoples supposed solutions.

Turned off Cloud that did nothing turned it back on nothing,

Deleted the files in the computer and or uninstalled it and re installed it many times still doesn’t work!

Others said this would fix it but you would lose your saved game or achievements and have to start over but I can’t even get that far I still get the error.

And all the other goals etc.

Now just because of a simple power outage I cannot get the game to start anymore?

Purchased through EA and or Origin.

Even tried safe mode but the error still exists.

No one elses posts seem to help me and to be honest sound like gibberish.

Just once it would be nice if someone would post an option that actually WORKS!!

Update: I noticed that the game keeps telling me to do the windows and G for x box game bar so I thought since that this game was the only thing that has ever utilized xbox anything i would delete the xbox files and then I found an EA folder deleted that and then uninstalled origin and plants vs zombies and emptied everything and then restarted and re installed those from origin online. Now at first it still did the file error but I tried the cloud data check thing again and it asked if I wanted to switch to the local save or the like meaning the computer,Once I DID THAT

Plants Vs Zombies error message

If you’re getting an error message reading “Error User File is Wrong Size» or «Invalid File Version” or «File Too Short» when trying to play the game Plants Vs Zombies, this means that the save data for the game (where your game progress is stored) has become corrupted.

This prevents the game from launching and will give you this (or similar) error messages.

How do I resolve this?

To fix this, you will need to delete the corrupted save data files. While this means you will be deleting your game progress, you will be able to start fresh using your new experience to get even better scores!

Where are the save data files?

This will vary depending on the Windows Operating System you are running

Once you have located the folder, you will want to RIGHT click on it and then select DELETE. Now you can RIGHT click on the Recycle Bin, and select “EMPTY RECYCLE BIN”. With those steps done, you just need to reboot your computer.

That’s it! Now you shouldn’t have any trouble playing the game.

I can’t find those folders!

This means they are “hidden”, if you have Windows 10 the files will be hidden by default. You will just need to grant access to view them.

The «On the house» version of this game was running fine until I installed the new «On the house» Peggle. Now when I try to load the game I get an «Invalid file version» error. Can someone tell me how to fix this. I thought about Uninstalling but I dont have a disc to reinstall & it was free, so I’m afraid it wont let me reinstall.

hi to fix this error you must replace your user file at C:ProgramDataPopCap GamesPlantsVsZombiesuserdata this is the only way on how to fix this error i got this error just later good thing i have a backup in the internet so i download it,inserted it in C:ProgramDataPopCap GamesPlantsVsZombiesuserdata and yes the game works again this error happens because when you go to the following folder C:ProgramDataPopCap GamesPlantsVsZombiesuserdata and open the user1.dat you will see that the file has no text this is the reason why the game gives you the error to fix replace the user1.dat or delete all the contents of the userdata folder,open the game and create a new profile

Invalid file version.

This happened to me today as I was playing the game, Well actually tending to the garden, Feeding my 725 foot tree and buying fertilizer, A STORM rolled through knocked out power during the purchasing of the fertilizer and when the power came back ON I restarted the computer and went to finish my fertilizer purchase and grow the tree some more since I had $980,000 some odd dollars in the game and you can only go to 999,999 so you need to buy something.

ANYWAY upon re opening the game I got the

I have BEATEN the full game of the year edition 13 times I believe. 249 hours played $980,000 plus plant dollars. 725 plus foot tall tree of wisdom!

game will not load. attempted to delete user files, but Origin folders aren’t set up the same as what i found in google. live chat help says it’s an hour wait — useless. hope to find a solution

I’ve been playing this game for over a year now and when I tried clicking play the other day it tries to load but then I get this small box in the middle of my screen saying «Error reading user file» and under that says «File too short». Then it backs out to my origin window again. Why am I getting this message?

We have the exact same problem. I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing the game. I’ve tried right clicking on the game image in origin to repair game and nothing has helped. I get a little gray box that pops up and says «Error reading user file» «File too short»

Then relaunch the game. Same error message?

I did not have the folder » Big Fish Games» in the program data folder.

I have pogoDGC, but nothing about plantvszombies (or inside folder there).

File Too Short Error — Plants vs. Zombies

Why am I getting an «Error Reading User File: File Too Short» message when starting Plants vs. Zombies?

This error is often related to a problem with the Plants vs. Zombies user files, such as your player profile and saved game information.

It may have occurred because the game did not have a chance to close properly, causing the user files to become corrupt.

To fix this error, the corrupt files have to be removed. This will allow the game to start normally and create new user files.

The process for removing these files varies depending on your version of Windows.

Please tap your operating system below:

Windows XP Users

If you’re using Windows XP, simply uninstalling and reinstalling the game will delete the user files.

1. Open the Start menu.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

Plants vs zombies error reading user file invalid file version

My laptop runs Windows 8.1 and after a few leads from PopCap Support, I figured out how to fix this issue (hurray!!)

First we need to be able to view hidden files to find the folders/files we need. Here’s what PopCap Support told me to do for that for Windows 8 users:

1. Run a Windows search to find «Control Panel»
2. Open the Control Panel shortcut (there may be several listed, as this tool is accessible through multiple paths, but the shortcuts all lead to the same tool)
3. If your Control Panel is set to Category view, change View by option to Large Icons
4. Click Folder Options
5. Click the View tab
6. Click Show hidden files, folders, and drives
7. Click Apply, then OK
(NOTE: remember to change it back to Hide hidden files, folders, and drives after you’re done fixing the problem)

Next, navigate to this file path:

PopCap Support suggested a few things that didn’t work, such as «restore previous versions» and copying/pasting files from the «userdata» folder. I couldn’t find the «restore previous versions» option, nor was I able to find any files in the userdata folder. Instead, I found a folder called «userdata_backup». I did the following steps and was able to launch PVZ AND keep my progress from before the «File reading error»:

1. Make sure the userdata folder is empty.
2. Move all the files from userdata_backup into the userdata folder.
3. Launch PVZ. The game will then have a pop-up window that will overall ask if you’d want to load your local save file, Steam save file, or cancel. Click Local Save File.
4. BOOM! You should be able to successfully launch PVZ with your progress still intact.

UPDATE: I completed The Tree of Wisdom achievement AFTER the fix, and it DOES safe to the Steam Cloud!! Now that it’s for sure that the local save file has overwritten the one in the Steam Cloud, you’re all set to kill them zombies. Good luck everyone!!

since google sent me here and the last post is pretty recent. As far as i know there isn’t a known public fix for the save corruption. Any methods meantioned are basically «find a place where there is a backup». Including this one which is «get steam to download the cloud version of your save».

With anything that ever involves deleting a file, always make a backup elsewhere, you want to make sure you can revert if something doesn’t work properly.

If you’re getting an error message reading “Error User File is Wrong Size» or «Invalid File Version” or «File Too Short» when trying to play the game Plants Vs Zombies, this means that the save data for the game (where your game progress is stored) has become corrupted.

This prevents the game from launching and will give you this (or similar) error messages.

How do I resolve this?

To fix this, you will need to delete the corrupted save data files. While this means you will be deleting your game progress, you will be able to start fresh using your new experience to get even better scores!

I can’t find those folders!

This means they are “hidden”, if you have Windows 10 the files will be hidden by default. You will just need to grant access to view them.

• Click the Start Menu
• Select File Explorer.
• At the top of the window, select the View

The game in question is Plants Vs Zombies. We’ve been playing it for months before the error happened. The only change I’ve made is that my CDROM drive broke recently, and I’m now using a CDROM drive that is connected by a USB port.

There are two different user accounts on the computer, and two different profiles within the game. In the past we could log on using our own user accounts, and then choose which user profile we wanted. However, the game opens for me, and I can open my profile. I can see my girlfriends profile, but I cannot open it. My girlfriend cannot open the game at all.

Which PvZ game are you trying to play? In the meantime right-click PvZ from within Origin and select Repair Game.

Please also upload a dxdiag with your reply so that I further investigate the possible cause of the issue.
